The 31st episode of Star Blazers, an English rewrite and dub of the 1974 anime series Space Battleship Yamato, airs in syndication across the U.S. 
The Argo evades the Andromeda by diving through the asteroid belt. Though the Argo is the more maneuverable vessel, the Andromeda circumvents the asteroid belt and meets the Star Force on the other side. For a moment, it seems as though one Earth ship will be forced to fire upon another, until the Andromeda’s Captain Gideon stands down, allowing the Argo to pass.
