ELO offshoot band Electric Light Orchestra Part II releases its self-titled debut album (with the placement of “Part II” on the cover no doubt leaving some confusion as to whether or not this is the original band; it’s actually a new group formed by former ELO drummer Bev Bevan).

CMC International Records releases the Electric Light Orchestra Part II live album One Night: Live In Australia as a single-CD release for the North American market (the album was previously given a two-disc release in Europe). The master recordings of this album change hands, cheaply, many times over many years, resulting in a great many reissues under different titles.
Art Records releases The Orchestra’s album No Rewind. This is a new lineup for the band previously known as Electric Light Orchestra Part II, which – after the departure of founding ELO drummer Bev Bevan – is now legally required to avoid references to Electric Light Orchestra in any promotional material. This album saw limited release as a tour exclusive in 2001; this is its first retail release.
