UK cable channel Disney XD airs a one-off “sneak preview” of the first episode of K-9. Filmed in Australia, this series is aimed at younger viewers, and is the brainchild of original K-9 co-creator Bob Baker, who has been trying to launch a K-9 series since the 1990s. Other than the character of K-9, the show has no other ties to the Doctor Who universe, since the BBC is not involved.

Though technically in the same continuity as its predecessor, Star Wars: Clone Wars, Rebels is the first Disney-produced Star Wars project following the studio’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012. The first episode is roughly 43 minutes in length, a typical length for hour-long US television drama, but most future episodes (except for select “event” stories) will run 22 minutes long.
