NBC airs the 19th episode of the military drama The Lieutenant, created and produced by future Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and starring Gary Lockwood (2001: a space odyssey) and Robert Vaughn (The Man From UNCLE).
As platoon leader, Lt. Rice fields many questions and requests from his men, but when Sgt. Capp comes to him with woman problems, Rice is slightly out of his element. But when Capp’s “problems” escalate to a marriage proposal and the possibility of leaving the Marine Corps for civilian life, Rice is caught off-guard. The discovery that Capp’s fiancĂ©e has a criminal past complicates things even further, and Captain Rambridge’s anger at the thought of losing his most experienced gunnery sergeant doesn’t help either. Can Rice keep Capp in the Corps without costing him his happiness?
