Gene-ology: The Works of Gene Roddenberry

Mission Log: Gene-ology is a podcast hosted by Ashley Thomas, Norman C. Lao, and theLogBook.com’s Earl Green, exploring the early works of future Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, and trying to determine if his early television writing bore the same hallmarks of message-based storytelling for which his later creation became famous. This is not the official page for the podcast, but it was irresistible to put Gene-ology entries into theLogBook’s timeline to lend added context to Roddenberry’s formative years as a TV writer. What else was on the air? What else was happening in the world?

The podcast is recorded as a series of “box sets” gathering work on various projects; the following is a listing of Gene’s works – at least those with firm airdates or script dates – in chronological order as referenced in the timeline.
