The Star Wars Anthology

Star Wars20th Century Fox Film Scores releases a 4-CD set of John Williams’ soundtracks from Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi, presenting more material than has appeared on any of the previous releases (but still not presenting the complete score to any one of the movies). An extensive liner notes booklet with contributions from Nicholas Meyer and Lukas Kendall is included.

STS-61: new eyes for Hubble

Space ShuttleNASA launches Space Shuttle Endeavour on a ten-day mission to retrieve and repair the Hubble Space Telescope, which was launched in 1990 with flawed optics. With the $2,000,000,000 telescope held steady in the cargo bay, Endeavour astronauts conduct repairs during spacewalks totaling over 35 hours of the mission, before releasing Hubble back into orbit with new eyes. Aboard Endeavour for her history-making fifth flight are Commander Richard Covey, Pilot Kenneth Bowersox, Payload Commander Story Musgrave, and mission specialists Kathryn Thornton, Claude Nicollier, Jeffrey Hoffman and Tom Akers.

Young Indiana Jones ChroniclesThe 28th episode of George Lucas’ historical adventure series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles airs on ABC, starring Sean Patrick Flanery. Tim McInnerny (Blackadder), Nickolas Grace (Robin Of Sherwood), and Bernard Bresslaw (Doctor Who) guest star in the final episode to air on ABC. Lucasfilm will produce four feature-length TV movies for The Family Channel from 1994 through 1996.
