This news is from a two-month-old press release, but it slid under so many gamers’ radar that it’s worth mentioning again. The rights to all of the arcade titles created by Exidy, whose heyday saw such sleeper hits as Venture, Crossbow, Clowns, Mouse Trap, Starfire, and saw controversy with titles such as Death Race and Chiller, have been acquired by Mean Hamster Software. Mean Hamster is already hard at work on updating Crossbow to modern specs for the Windows PC platform and for cell phones; many of the other titles will also wind up on those two platforms. (No console compilations of Exidy classics have been announced as yet, alas.)
