Lexx Season 3

May

LexxConvinced by Xev that he is vital to controlling the Lexx, Prince releases Stan and tries to persuade him to hand over the ship’s key – but even with Xev trying to convince him, Stan isn’t sold on the idea. On the planet Water, Kai plummets out of the sky, having jumped off the hull of the Lexx through the two worlds’ connected atmosphere, and lands at an oceanside city. Here he meets May, a lovely woman who seems to be the only survivor of a recent battle. A balloon from Fire arrives, and Kai quickly dispatches its crew after they try to kill him. With May, he pilots the balloon through the atmosphere to Fire to search for Xev. Once near Prince’s palace, May avails herself of an opportunity to assassinate Fire’s leader, earning an instant grudge from the smitten Xev. They escape Fire and return, via balloon, to the Lexx. But having escaped Prince and his demands to use Lexx to destroy Water, Stan is now asked by May to destroy Fire…and Xev is outraged when he seriously considers it.

Gametown

LexxAfter dying of a fatal arrow wound, May lives again – but only because, out of desperation, Stanley has promised a mysteriously revived Prince that he will turn Lexx’s weapons on Water. Kai takes a fleet of newly-bred moths to Water to acquire food for the slowly dying Lexx, but Stanley is desperate to keep Xev aboard – possibly to keep himself from fulfilling his promise to Prince. On Water, Kai lands at a floating city called Gametown, but his fleet of moths is hijacked by the ambitious Fifi, who leads them through the atmospheric corridor to Fire to join forces with a more aggressive power – in this case, a military leader on Fire named Duke. When Xev realizes what Stan had to do to bring May back to life, she’ll stop at nothing to prevent him from destroying Water.

Boomtown

LexxFifi leads his purloined moths back to Water, as Duke mounts an attack on Gametown. With the first powered flying vehicles that either planet has ever seen, Duke makes quick work of Gametown – only Kai and a young woman named Bunny survive. When one of the moths is close enough, Kai uses his brace to lift himself up to it and remove its crew. Back aboard the Lexx, Kai introduces his friends to Bunny, and orders the ship’s moth-builders to construct more moths. Bunny leads the crew to Boomtown, whose residents are obsessed with sex – something that suits Stanley just fine. But when Duke targets Boomtown next, Stanley and Xev may be too preoccupied to help Kai mount a defense.

Gondola

LexxTrapped on Fire without a moth, Xev, Stan and Kai must hitch a ride aboard a hot air balloon with Fifi, Duke and Bunny, who are also trapped without transport. Quickly realizing that the balloon’s gondola is too heavy to sustain flight, Kai throws himself overboard to make the journey on foot, since he cannot be injured. But there are still too many passengers for the balloon to make it to its destination, and unlike Kai, whoever disembarks next probably won’t survive.

Tunnels

LexxDumped off of the edge of K-Town, Kai still hasn’t fully recovered, and is helpless to prevent his own capture by the denizens of another town. Still in K-Town, however, Stan and Xev have another problem – Prince has apparently been fully reincarnated. He offers to help them rescue Kai, but naturally his price is still the destruction of the planet Water. In the meantime, Kai is taken to a town where, upon admitting that he is an assassin, he is put in trial. He even agrees to be subject to the harshest punishment his judges have to offer – namely, to be thrown off the edge of this town’s tower. Xev and Stan, however, have become separated and may not survive the treacherous journey by subterranean tunnel from K-Town.

The Oricans enter death through a ritual that can only be performed with the aid of another Luxan, but at first Nilaam refuses D’Argo’s aid. When she eventually reconsiders, she is surprised by the apparent strength of D’Argo’s life force, and performs a renewal ritual that leaves her young and healthy. The Key

LexxRescued by Kai in a balloon, Stan and Xev return to the Lexx, where Stan decides that the next time Lexx is aimed at Fire, the desert planet should be destroyed. Questioning Stan’s judgement, Xev decides that the time has come for him to surrender the key to the Lexx – but Kai knows of no way to transfer the key other than through death. 790 discovers that the next best thing may be to bring Stan to the height of sexual ecstasy, but it may be difficult to find volunteers for that particular task. And what may be more of a task is for Stan to get it back if he loses it.

Taking the Stone

FarscapeA distressed Chiana is looking for some reassurance from her otherwise-occupied crewmates; their apparent disinterest motivates her to take a shuttle and head off of Moya. The others soon discover the source of her troubles – a life-disc that had kept her aware of her brother has blinked out, indicating his death. When Crichton, Rygel and Aeryn track her down to a nearby cemetery planet, they find her in no rush to return. Indeed, she’s found comfort with the group of young daredevils that live beneath the surface, and announces her intent to join in one of their rituals, a chasm dive called “taking the stone” that is sometimes but not always fatal, thanks to an intermittently functioning forcefield generator. For the natives, even death by the stone is an attractive option, since radiation poisoning means everyone will soon die a slow painful death anyway. Crichton refuses to accept any of this, searching for a way to prevent the radiation sickness and talk Chiana out of jumping. But it doesn’t seem like anyone’s interested in what solutions he might offer.

Garden

LexxThe Lexx is less than a week away from crashing into either Fire or Water unless it receives food, and plenty of it. And it looks like they may be able to get it from a city called Garden on Water, where three women tend to a bountiful supply of food. Stanley is so enthralled with Garden – and especially its gardeners – that he begins to entertain thoughts of staying there rather than trying to salvage the Lexx. When the ladies offer to plant a dream for Stanley that will sprout into reality, Stan has them grow a new Lyekka. But just like the original, this Lyekka awakens with a ravenous appetite – and worse yet, balloons from Fire are en route to recapture the crew for Prince.

Crackers Don’t Matter

FarscapeWhile buying food on a commerce planet, the crew meets Traltixx, an alien who claims he can make Moya undetectable. A demonstration on Crichton’s module convinces the crew to bring the ship through a set of pulsar lights to his transformation yard, even when Traltixx warns them that the intense light can have a strange effect on many species. Zhaan certainly has no complaints, as the light brings her such intense pleasure that she soon shuts out everything else around her. Everyone else, however, gets more paranoid than ever, and unusually attached to the dry, flat wafers they’ve added to their food supply. Traltixx is no help, either. Indeed, he encourages Pilot to turn against the rest. Crichton must overcome his paranoia and the delusions that go with it – including visions of Scorpius – to rally the crew together and save the ship.

Battle

LexxThe attack on Garden is swift and deadly, and Lyekka is killed within moments. Stan and Kai see their moth lifting off, and Kai uses his brace to board the ship and throw its pilot out, but instead of Xev they find a bomb aboard the moth. Kai and Stan bail out, but Kai is able to attach himself to one of Prince’s balloons, and gets Stan to safety (after throwing that balloon’s crew overboard). Prince and one of his most loyal underlings, Priest, are holding Xev hostage on another balloon as a bargaining chip. But with Kai gaining altitude – a position from which he can attack any of Prince’s balloons – Prince must count on Priest to make a supreme sacrifice for the sake of victory. As the stakes rise, both Prince’s army and the crew of the Lexx discover the limits of their loyalty, their sacrifice, and their endurance.

Picture If You Will

FarscapeChiana and Rygel return to Moya from a trading expedition with an added gift, a picture that appears to depict Chiana. The picture unnerves Zhaan, especially when it changes to depict Chiana with a broken leg and Chiana breaks hers soon after. When the next change shows Chiana burst into flames, everyone shares Zhaan’s concerns – but they’re too late to stop Chiana’s combustion. As the portrait begins to depict the rest of the crew’s demise, Zhaan manages to deduce the picture’s true purpose. Instead of killing them, it’s drawing them into another dimension, where the sorcerer Maldis waits for his chance to avenge his previous defeat and, just as importantly, regain corporeal form.

Girltown

LexxXev has escaped the balloon battle by riding a stray gondola through the atmospheric interface and onto the surface of Fire, and Stanley and Kai follow with little idea of her precise landing point. They do find what’s left of her balloon, and decide to scout for her at the nearest town on Fire – a place known as Girltown. Within the town’s walls, a strange drama of gender reversal appears to be playing itself out, as Kai discovers an oppressed population of men who seem to be fulfilling traditionally female roles. Stanley is captured and brought before Girltown’s ruler, the vicious Queen, only to realize that she may be Giggerota in disguise. Queen seems intrigued by the fact that Stanley hasn’t died yet – indeed, en route to Girltown, Kai admits that he has noticed that many of his enemies from the other universe seem to have resurfaced on Fire or Water in some form. Even when Kai and Xev arrive to rescue Stanley from what Queen says will be but the first of his many deaths, the rescue attempt goes horribly wrong, leaving Xev alone – with the key to the Lexx.
