Open Main Guns! Target: Yamato!

Star BlazersThe Argo evades the Andromeda by diving through the asteroid belt. Though the Argo is the more maneuverable vessel, the Andromeda circumvents the asteroid belt and meets the Star Force on the other side. For a moment, it seems as though one Earth ship will be forced to fire upon another, until the Andromeda’s Captain Gideon stands down, allowing the Argo to pass.

Heavy Fighting: The Space Cavalry!

Star BlazersA distress signal is received from Brumis, the eleventh planet of the Earth’s solar system which is home to a Marine-manned defense base – which is now under attack by Comet Empire forces. Wildstar orders a full-scale attack on the Empire’s ships, doing critical damage to their numbers and letting only a single ship get away. The Argo is able to rescue Sgt. Knox and his Marines, taking them aboard. Sandor is able to analyze samples of the Comet Empire’s technology, proving to the EDF once and for all that a new threat to Earth’s safety indeed exists. The Star Force’s renegade status is lifted, and Sgt. Knox vows vengeance upon the enemy who forced he and his men to do the unthinkable – retreat.

Counterattack: The Unseen Space Sub!

Star BlazersThe EDF Marines from Brumis have difficulty adjusting to the somewhat more disciplined environment of the Argo. For starters, Sgt. Knox can’t keep his eyes off of Nova, or his hands off of the Argo’s fighters or instrumentation. The situation goes unchecked until a brawl breaks out between the Argo’s repair crews and Knox’s Marines. Wildstar even joins the fray until Dr. Sane protests, reminding the younger man that he is now the Argo’s captain and needs to start demonstrating restraint for the sake of his crew (and their unruly guests). And when the latest message from Telezart is received, Mark Venture’s reaction is very surprising indeed.

Space Storm: Escape Impossible!

Star BlazersAware that Trelaina’s signal has given the Argo’s crew a heading for Telezart, Prince Zordar uses the opportunity to lay a trap in the ship’s path – a gravitational vortex from which the Argo cannot escape. But the Comet Empire’s leader underestimates one thing. If Trelaina can transmit a heading to the Argo, she can also help the crew devise solutions to their predicament.

Charge! Sink The Yamato!

Star BlazersThe Cosmo Fighter pilots – along with Sgt. Knox, who has stolen one of the Argo’s fighters – capture a lone Comet Empire fighter with its pilot aboard. Dr. Sane is stunned to find that everything about the Comet Empire pilot, apart from his green skin, is identical to the average human. Under interrogation, the alien answers no questions, and Orion begins to worry that maybe the Argo’s visitor was planted in the ship’s path, intended to be found by the crew. And Knox doesn’t want the pilot alive at all, fully intending to kill the man to avenge the Space Marines killed on Brumis. Wildstar orders the prisoner returned to Dr. Sane’s custody, but the man escapes, trying to return to a nearby Comet Empire attack fleet. When they refuse him permission to rejoin them, the alien pilot does something no one expects.

Crisis Relief: The Roar Of The Undulation Gun!

Star BlazersA test of the Comet Empire’s new weapon – antimatter missiles – yields devastating results, destroying an entire planet, and it is decided to use the missiles against the Star Force. On the Argo, a transmission from Trelaina gives a new course, taking the Argo through a swarm of meteors. Assured that the meteors are harmless as long as care is taken at the helm, Venture lays in Trelaina’s course…but the crew is mystified when it seems that their benefactor has led them into a Comet Empire trap – one with a very familiar style. Meanwhile, on Earth, the EDF has carefully kept the secret of the Comet Empire’s approach from becoming public knowledge to avoid panic. That, however, is about to change…

Leader Desslar: The Vengeful Demon!

Star BlazersDesslock unleashes a swarm of starflies – spaceborne firefly-like beings – near the Argo, which has stopped so the crew can conduct repairs. The crew is fascinated by the starflies and take them aboard, unwittingly infecting the Argo with a metal-eroding virus devised by Desslock. When this revelation is followed closely by an attack by Gamilon fighters, it confirms Wildstar’s suspicion that his old adversary is still very much alive and well. With Gamilon and Comet Empire forces closing in, the Argo is left defenseless.

Will Yamato Perish In The Hollow Planetoid?

Star BlazersWildstar desperately looks for a place to stop and scrape the metal-eating starflies off the Argo’s hull, and a perfect place rather suspiciously appears just ahead – a hollow, tubular satellite. Sandor and IQ-9 survey the hollowed-out moon, finding nothing to indicate that the Argo will be in any danger. Desslock’s fleet surrounds the satellite, trapping the Argo, and the end of the Star Force is within the Gamilon leader’s grasp – until Prince Zordar of the Comet Empire orders him to cease his operation. Desslock now risks losing the only supporters he has to fulfill his desire for revenge…but if his prey escapes, Telezart will be within their reach.

Fierce Attack: The Telezart Landing Operation!

Star BlazersThe Argo arrives at the planet Telezart, and Sandor’s scans show it to be a hollow world. But rather than a warm welcome from Trelaina, the Argo is targeted by Telezart’s automatic missile defense systems. Wildstar dispatches Sgt. Knox and the Space Marines to do what they do best – make short work of the planetary defenses and clear the way for the Argo. What the Marines find is a desolate world, with evidence of an advanced civilization reduced to rubble. Desslock returns, as ordered, for a meeting with Prince Zordar – and the Gamilon leader is furious with what he perceives as Zordar’s interference with his most recent (and nearly successful) attempt to wipe out the Argo. What neither of them know is that Zordar’s daughter, Princess Invidia, is sowing the seeds of dissent between them in her own grab for power.

Counterstrike: The Discovery Of Teresa!

Star BlazersOn Telezart, Comet Empire robot tanks are giving Knox and the Space Marines heavy resistance. Wildstar brings a heavy missile launcher to the surface from the Argo, but Knox and his men must mount a near-suicidal frontal attack on the tanks to give him time to set the launcher up. When the weapon is fired, the Comet Empire tanks are quickly dealt with, but when Wildstar, Venture and the others try to reach Trelaina on foot, they find that the Empire isn’t about to give up so easily. Meanwhile, Desslock realizes that Princess Invidia is setting him up…but trying to convince her father of that fact will be no easy matter.

Teresa: The Beginning Of Love!

Star BlazersWildstar, Sandor, Knox and IQ-9 have made first contact with Trelaina of Telezart, and now Mark Venture eagerly awaits his chance to meet the woman whose voice he has become infatuated with across light-years. Wildstar is surprised to find that Trelaina is just as anxious to meet Mark herself. When presented with a bouquet of slightly wilted flowers prepared by Nova, Trelaina is able to restore them to full bloom, to the astonishment of her visitors. She reveals to Wildstar that, judging by its current movement, the Comet Empire will arrive at Earth and launch a frontal attack on the planet in 46 days…but despite the demonstration of her powers that the Argo crew has seen thus far, Trelaina says she can do nothing more to help them in their impending fight. Then, in private, she reveals to Mark Venture that she does have that power after all – but the last time she used it, she destroyed the surface of Telezart and everyone else living on it.

Teresa: Farewell To Love!

Star BlazersWith barely a month and a half to return to Earth and mount what may be a hopeless defense of Earth against the Comet Empire’s onslaught, the crew of the Argo prepares to leave Telezart. But Mark Venture has already given up hope – Trelaina can’t be convinced to join the crew, and she stands by her pledge not to use her tremendous powers. Even when she’s told that the Comet Empire will strike at Telezart itself in only three days, Trelaina doesn’t relent…until Venture says that he will stay there with her instead of returning to the Argo. She comes back to the Argo with him briefly, but returns to her planet as the ship gets underway. Wildstar is grateful, knowing how vital his chief navigator is to the battle ahead, but when Venture learns that Trelaina has remained behind on Telezart, he may have lost his fighting spirit.

Telezart: Disperse Into Space!

Star BlazersThe Comet Empire accelerates toward Telezart, anticipating no problem in conquering a planet populated by only one person. The Argo crew, especially Venture, is helpless to do anything but watch as the mighty comet barrels toward the planet. But Wildstar has to calm Venture’s worst fears and use the momentary diversion to escape from Telezart’s solar system and make a head start toward Earth. Trelaina’s warns Prince Zordar to halt his advance, but the leader of the Comet Empire refuses to heed the warning. Trelaina’s response is swift and surprisingly powerful – she literally detonates the planet Telezart, forcing the planet to shred itself in the comet’s path. The crew of the Argo watches in awe from a distance as the Comet Empire emerges from the huge explosion, nearly destroyed and now pushed off of its course for Earth, but still in one piece.

With the Argo still at least another warp away, the defense of Earth rests with Captain Gideon and the EDF’s flagship, Andromeda. In the meantime, Desslock – who has been locked in a prison cell by Princess Invidia – manages to get free, take her hostage, and fight his way off of the Comet Empire and rejoin the few remaining Gamilon ships. Wildstar and Venture break up the fight, and Wildstar orders Knox to take a fighter to Brumis to pay homage to his fallen men. IQ-9 accompanies Knox to the planet. But the brass at Earth Defense Headquarters isn’t happy with the Argo’s stopover – the people of Earth are in a panic, retreating back to the underground shelters they occupied during the Gamilon attacks.
