Out Of The UnknownA long-haul space mission to and from Ganymede is taking a toll on its all-too-human crew. One of the ship’s navigators dies from what appears to be the stress of being away from an earthlike environment, while the ship’s doctor suspects that Wescott, one of the crew, is not human, but an alien being that has assumed his physical form. The doctor begins sowing the seeds of suspicion among his own crew, and soon Westcott is a pariah among his crewmates, and the suspicion spreads. How inhuman will the crew become in trying to prove a shipmate isn’t human?

Aboard the Enterprise, the children gradually begin to influence and take over the minds of the crew as part of a plan by their “friendly angel,” a seemingly benevolent alien called Gorgon who uses children as a means of spreading his influence, and unless he can find some way to expose Gorgon’s true intentions, Kirk will become a prisoner on his own ship.

SearchA PROBE agent trying to track down an international crime boss in Latin America is reported killed in action. Nick Bianco was already under orders to coordinate with his fellow agent, but the fact that he was an old friend makes it personal; Bianco even has to deliver the news to the widow. Backtracking the dead agent’s trail leads to France, where Bianco encounters a beautiful woman who insists that she was the agent’s lover, and that he is still alive and plans to defect from PROBE. But her refusal to answer Bianco’s straight questions about his fellow agent’s whereabouts trouble him, and in no time at all Bianco is being tailed by murderous thugs. Worse yet, having learned that her husband may have had a lover, the missing agent’s wife goes to France to look for him herself, placing her in mortal danger.

The Legacy

Planet Of The ApesVirdon, Burke and Galen find the ruins of a city – once known to them as Oakland – and find it inhabited by humans, though the approach of an ape patrol on horseback is enough to scatter anyone who might welcome the travelers. They take refuge in a building that was once the Oakland Science Institute – a place that Virdon remembers as a government think tank – where they discover a piece of equipment locked away for centuries, intact and functional: a hologram promising the sum total of human knowledge at the time of the then-approaching apocalypse. It needs a new battery before it will divulge any of that knowledge, however, and Virdon becomes nearly obsessed with constructing a new battery; even just before his capture, he tells Burke that extracting the information is more important than the lives of any one of the group. Virdon is captured by Urko’s troops, but while Urko is eager to torture his prisoner, Dr. Zaius arrives to conduct the interrogation by far subtler means. Virdon may not even realize that he is betraying his fellow fugitives…or that he’s handing over the sum of human knowledge to the apes.

The city ruins seen in The Legacy look remarkably like those seen in The Trap, aired mere weeks earlier.

The Phoenix is launched to patrol the area, and they spot a huge robotic sea anemone on the seafloor. Keyop, still stinging from an encounter with civilians who know about G-Force bot don’t seem to know there is a G-4, sneaks away to try to complete the mission alone. But he may be leading Zoltar straight to the new secret base…

The Plot To Kill A City, Part 1

Buck Rogers In The 25th CenturyBuck and Wilma arrest an assassin named Raphael Argus in a seedy bar, and use the confusion of the ensuing shootout as a cover for Buck to assume the killer’s identity. It’s all part of Dr. Huer’s plan to infiltrate a guild of mercenaries who are believed to be preparing to launch a terrorist strike on Earth itself. Wilma is sent on the undercover mission as well, which is just as well, since as part of his cover, Buck isn’t provided with any way to prove that he isn’t Argus, to make it easier for him to bluff his way into the midst of the conspirators. But the mercenaries have also taken steps to make sure that they can identify Argus upon his arrival – and they’ve also planted operatives within the Earth Defense Directorate with orders to sabotage Earth’s defensive capabilities. And when Wilma breaks her cover, Buck has to risk his own life to buy time for her escape.

Knights Of GodMordrin wastes no time in publicizing Gervase’s betrayal of the resistance movement and his father. When Owen finds out, he begins to question the danger he’s sent his son into, but is powerless to interfere. Nearby, Julia is discovered, injured by gunfire from the helicopter chase but not dead. At the training camp for Knights of God officers, Gervase is proving to be in less-than-ideal physical condition. Talking to fellow recruits, he discovers that he’s the only officer trainee to have been personally inducted by Prior Mordrin, and he begins to quest why – and wants to know what happened to Julia. Mordrin discovers that his most trusted henchman, Brother Hugo, issued orders to kill Julia, when in fact Mordrin wanted her brought back alive.

Red DwarfPreface From “How To Pick Up Girls By Hypnosis”: Saving Lister from further discussion of Rimmer’s maladjusted view of women, Holly announces the invention of the Holly Hop Drive, which can instantaneously transport Red Dwarf across vast reaches of space, at least in theory. When Lister activates the Hop Drive, Red Dwarf winds up in another dimension parallel to Red Dwarf’s, but different – the roles of men and women are reversed, and Lister, Rimmer and Cat run into another Red Dwarf, occupied by a female Rimmer, a female Lister, a female computer named Hilly, and a creature that evolved from the ship’s dog. Rimmer is confronted with his sexist alter-ego who keeps trying to pick him up by hypnosis, and Lister winds up in bed with himself – in a more literal way than usual – and has to contend with getting pregnant.

Star Trek: The Next GenerationStardate 47135.2: Riker, Troi, Worf and Crusher are searching for the missing Captain Picard on Desica II to no avail. A Yridian claims he witnessed Picard’s death in a seedy bar after an argument with a group of aliens, and offers to give Riker some clues in exchange for safe passage off the planet. Once aboard the Enterprise, the Yridian leads Riker to a planet in the Barada system, where an away team led by Riker beams down to hunt for possible leads in the investigation. A well-armed group of aliens under the command of a Romulan ambushes the away team, and Riker is captured and beamed away with the attackers. Data takes command of the Enterprise and pursues the alien ship. Riker finds himself in the hands of a band of mercenaries commanded by Baran, a vicious-tempered leader who maintains the loyalty of his crew – and Riker – by using pain-generating implants which he controls. Riker is astounded to find that the newest member of the rogue crew on their mysterious mission to raid ancient Romulan artifacts is a knowledgeable rogue named “Galen” – better known to Riker as Captain Picard.

The Siege

Star Trek: Deep Space NineStardate not given: DS9 is being abandoned, and everyone from the Starfleet contingent to civilians are evacuating to various places of safety. In the meantime, Sisko and some others decide to stay and fight it out with the Bajoran assault squadrons. Kira is determined to get proof of the Cardassians’ interference in Bajoran affairs to the Chamber of Ministers, even if it means walking into the assembly and showing the evidence to them herself. Li tells her where to find hidden fighter craft left over from the Cardassian occupation, and with Dax’s help, Kira sets out on her mission. Bajorans General Krim and Colonel Day, along with several shiploads of soldiers, take over the station, cautious because there is no resistance. Sisko, Li, Odo, and many other crew members begin to wage guerilla warfare upon DS9’s new occupants. Kira and Dax, after a quick dogfight with Bajoran assault ships, crash-land on Bajor and are rescued by Vedek Bareil, who gets them into the Chamber of Ministers with the damning evidence intact. As the Circle’s popularity dissolves before the eyes of its high-ranking supporters, the Bajoran troops on DS9 are ordered to stand down – but some of them insist on bearing a deadly hatred that will cost the Bajora one of their greatest legends.

Babylon 5A ship drifts through the jumpgate near B5 and must be towed in since it has sustained heavy battle damage. Its one occupant turns out to be Lyta Alexander, the commercial telepath originally assigned to B5 until her contact with Ambassador Kosh left her disoriented and possibly mentally unstable. Having fled Psi Corps and joined a resistance group on Mars, Lyta has learned of a sleeper spy aboard the station – someone who, thanks to a telepathically implanted personality that can’t be detected even on a deep mind-scan, is reporting back to Psi Corps and probably to the engineers of President Santiago’s assassination as well. Sheridan initially dismisses Lyta’s warning until an unknown assailant tries to kill her, neatly corroborating her story that the implanted personality will do or say anything to protect itself. Lyta does have the key to unlock the secret of who is carrying the personality known only as “Control” – a password which, when transmitted directly by telepathy, will reveal the secondary personality at the cost of destroying the “real” one. Ivanova balks at the prospect of being scanned, reluctantly revealing to Sheridan that she is a latent telepath who has evaded detection by Psi Corps for years. The command staff agrees to Lyta’s telepathic probe, and one by one they turn up free of any Psi Corps influence. And then Lyta has the opportunity to scan Talia…

Xena: Warrior PrincessAres’ girl of the moment, a warrior named Mavican, wants him to make her his new chosen since Xena no longer wants the job. But the god of war refuses, and Mavican determines to prove that she’s worthy of him.

Meanwhile, Xena fights of a small group of bandits, but won’t let Gabrielle help. Ares appears before the bard-turned-warrior when she visits a nearby temple to fill the waterskins. He’s sympathetic to her feelings of Xena treating her like a kid again, then surprises her with a compliment about her fighting skills with her sai before disappearing.

As Gabrielle is leaving the temple, Mavican appears. She wants to fight Xena to prove her worth to Ares…and she knows the best way to get the warrior’s attention is to kill her best friend.

Imperfection

Star Trek: VoyagerStardate 54014.4: After extensive searching and numerous interruptions, contact is finally made with relatives of the former Borg youngsters who have been traveling aboard Voyager. Icheb decides to stay aboard the ship and help Voyager’s crew return to Earth. Seven of Nine insists that Icheb’s reaction to the children’s departure is overemotional, but even as she says that, he notices that she is crying. Seven blames it on a malfunctioning Borg implant, which is confirmed when she visits the Doctor. She asks him to keep her condition confidential, but when she loses consciousness in the mess hall, the secret is out. The Doctor’s diagnosis is now much more grim: the central cortical node that regulates all of her body’s autonomic functions is failing, signing a death warrant for Seven. Janeway decides to scout through Borg wreckage to retrieve a cortical node from a dead drone, but the risky mission – and a close call with other scavengers – bears only a node that is of no use. As Seven gives up hope – and the Doctor and Janeway run out of ideas – Icheb proposes an ambitious alternative…one which the Doctor believes will sacrifice the young man’s life to save that of his teacher.

LostFlashback: Sun wakes up after a night with Jae Lee, who once again asks her to come away with him. They are interrupted by Sun’s father, who angrily tells her to get dressed and leave. Later, he tells Jin that Lee has stolen from him and shamed the family, and demands that Jin put a stop to it. At first Jin refuses, and tries to quit, but the appeal to family responsibilities is too much. At home, he tells Sun that he has to send a message for her father. Horrified, Sun asks him not to, but Jin can not see a way out. Still, he can not pull the trigger. He beats Lee, then tells him to leave the country. Lee decides to follow Jin’s advice – and leaves by leaping out his window.

The Island: Jin wants to turn back after waiting a day for Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Hurley. Sayid insists that they need to wait to meet their friends, although he wants to go further up the island in order to set a more visible fire. Jin effuses, but after a brief argument, Jin decides to help Sayid. Later, Sayid admit that he has been lying – he believes their friends have been captured, and he is trying to set a trap. Jin discovers the lie – and that Sun has been helping Sayid. He asks for a gun and waits with Sayid, while Jin returns to the boat. This turns out to be a mistake. The Others have seen the boat, and they head straight for it, leading to a confrontation between an armed Sun and one of the Others.

At the camp, Sawyer and Kate are pressed into labor digging and hauling rocks. Sawyer’s efforts at defiance are met with electric shocks. When he stops working and kisses Kate, the guards move in to stop him. A brawl ensues, and Sawyer gets a gun. But Juliet is pointing one at Kate, so Sawyer gives up and gets another shock for his trouble. He admits to Kate that fight was a way together information about their captors, but he doesn’t realize that Ben is gathering information on him. He is also providing information to Jack – not only his real name, but a glimpse of an event Jack thought could never happen. Ben also makes an offer: at some point, he will ask for Jack’s help. If Jack gives it, Ben will take him home.

Suddenly, he’s only days away from moving away from home, but something else is scaring him: repeated visits from an entity that he’s sure is going to try to destroy the world. This man appears only in his nightmares and warns Luke that the boy’s nightmares are feeding the being power. And then one night, Luke discovers that he isn’t just dreaming these encounters: the Nightmare Man is real.
