Another of my moody lighting projects, this time in a shelf in the entertainment center. It works kinda well with this candle from our wedding (the glass is engraved with the text from our wedding invitations) – the pictures don’t really do it justice.
This experiment really worked best for things with lots of glass in them to catch the light and reflections. I’m not sure it’ll “stick” in this form.
Though its ranks have been sorely depleted out of financial necessity, the DVD shelf – next to the entertainment center in the living room – is still fairly well stocked. Particularly if you like Doctor Who and Babylon 5.
As it’s steadily gotten colder, we’ve fixed Xena up with a doghouse on the back deck – that’s the only way she’ll get into it. (It was sitting out in the yard for months and she wouldn’t touch it.) Even then, it took the first real cold snap to go from this picture…
…to this picture (the next morning).
Personally, what I think Xena was really holding out for is some ostrich meat. Check out the freshly restocked refrigerator. Yum!
After waiting months and months for my in-laws to help us move a refrigerator that was in the garage at the rental house, we finally reached the “oh, screw it!” threshold and bought one the next time Lowe’s had a sale.
The utility room may not be the tidiest room in the house, but c’mon, whose utility room is? This is where cat food is dished out, laundry is done, old carpet remnants and leftover paint are stored, and dogs take refuge from bad weather…
…hence the chunks of dog food in the floor at the time this picture was taken. Here, you can also see the dorm fridge that we relied on for over half a year.
