Fog + Dog

The Fog
Since there’s a decent-sized pond on the adjacent property, and a small pond on our property (behind the barn), a light fog turns into something out of a Stephen King novel around here.
Xena vs. the Fog
Here’s Xena being a very foggy doggy, early one October morning at around 6:30. The pictures really only do the fog in the distance justice – there were thick, juicy waves of it rolling right over our yard and our deck.
Othello
Not that she’s the only outside animal – here’s Othello taking a supervised stroll by the light of our little solar garden path lights one evening.
Maybe if I don't get ripe he won't eat me...
It is now almost a year to the day from when we first laid eyes on our house. One advantage to owning your own land is planting stuff. Edible stuff. Like this giant juicy ‘mater. We planted three tomato plants and, in our first year here, got about a dozen or so fresh tomatoes out of the deal – and I can personally attest that each and every one of them was absolutely delicious.
Memo to all tomatoes in my yard: ripen immediately. I want to make a salad.
Xena at the gate
When I was taking that picture, Xena heard me padding around in the front yard and decided to come see what I was doing.
