I got an E-mail a while ago that told me I won 500,000 pounds from a British lottery. So, instead of clicking on the link in the E-mail (which did not point to the official lottery site), I googled the name of the lottery and found out that it was legit. The thing is you had to be a British citizen to be eligible for the prize. No doubt the E-mail was some kind of phishing scam but – for the few minutes before I Googled the site – I felt a thrill of the possibility of winning.
