But on the downside, she’s not the Cash Cab.

Taxi

This is Taxi, one of my sister-in-law’s cats. Taxi is staying with us for the next week because her family’s going to be gone on vacation…which wouldn’t be a big deal, except that Taxi is miserably, gonna-pop-any-second pregnant. It’s kitten time!

Taxi

TaxiSo naturally this means Taxi is very hungry and very thirsty. She adjusted to the food that we give to Olivia and Oberon very quickly. Heck, she almost adjusted to Olivia and Oberon themselves very quickly, except that she’s in “don’t touch me” mode, and the two regulars here want to sniff her from head to tail at a distance of about three centimeters. Olivia is never happy when we bring another cat into the house. Oberon’s more like “Ooooh. Someone new to play with!”

The ride home with Evan was interesting; he was obviously trying to engage Taxi in conversation: “Hi kitty!” She’d meow back, so I’m guessing they were having some kind of conversation there (I mean, who am I to suggest otherwise?).

As you can see here, I’ve constructed a nice dark secluded place expressly for kitten-birthin’ purposes, with the one drawback being that it’s in the bathtub. (A bathtub whose plumbing does not work, incidentally, in case you were wondering.) I worry that the last thing she’ll want to do is jump that hurdle on the way to disgorging her passengers.

Wonder what the fare is?

Taxi

She’s a very pretty cat. I can’t wait to see what kind of cute fwuffy kittens she has. Sadly, they’ll be leaving again before they get really cute – we’ll be doing good if they’re here long enough to open their eyes.

More kitteh pics soon!
