Invasive Species soundtrack

Invasive SpeciesInvasive Species was an audio drama written and produced by Robert Parson in 2002. Originally he’d planned on using royalty-free stock library music, as he had in his comedy audio series Ambassador Service, but then he asked me to come up with something along the lines of “Cut, Pasted, Wasted” (see the Creations 2000 page). Doing something along those lines was, in fact, what I managed not to do; I turned in several pieces of music, including one major action sequence and several transitional pieces to fit moods that were required for the story, which were used as a music library. I also designed the CD artwork for the project, and a few of the music tracks were included as bonus tracks on the CD.

Invasive Species

Here you’ll find the complete soundtrack. All of this was done with MTV Music Generator.

Attack Scene

Considering that Music Generator is geared toward electronica and house music and not stuff with constantly shifting rhythms and time signatures, this is almost impressive.

Love Theme from Invasive Species

Even a story about giant molluscs needs some love.

Really Huge Creature

Another longer piece, but not meant to be as propulsive as the attack scene.

Let’s Go Out There And Get Eaten

The title really says it all.

The Deep

The opening theme song for Invasive Species.
