Lost Season 3

The Brig

Flashback: After seeing his father inside the Others’ compound, Locke relocates with the rest of them. Ben tells Locke of Juliet’s undercover work on the beach camp, and then demands that Locke kill his father in order to finally put his old life behind him. Ben calls it an act of free will and a sign of commitment – but it’s an act that Locke can not bring himself to perform. Ben claims that this means that Locke is not the person the group thought he was. The next day, Richard Alpert confides in Locke that Ben wanted to humiliate Locke, to reduce the threat to his authority. Alpert knows that the only way Locke will be able to do what he is meant to do is for his father to die. So he gives Locke a file that indicates that one of his fellow survivors might be the man for the job. The next day, Ben and the Others break camp, and tell Locke not to bother following them unless he has his father’s body in tow.

The Island: Naomi, the parachutist, tells her rescuers that Penn Widmore hired her company to do a detailed search around specific coordinates. Until Naomi happened to see the island, just before her copter failed, she thought it was a wild goose chase. She also tells them that Oceanic Flight 815 was found in a trench off the Pacific coast, and that robot surveyors found the bodies of all the passengers. Desmond, Charlie and Hurley do not trust Jack, so they confide in Sayid. Sayid gets Naomi’s satellite phone working, but can not find a clear channel. When Kate comes across him working, Sayid demands that she not tell Jack. Instead, she immediately confronts Jack and tells him about Naomi – and that no one trusts him because of Juliet’s presence. Juliet seems to think that this is a good time to tell Kate something, but Jack disagrees as he goes off to investigate Naomi’s condition further.

Locke approaches Sawyer overnight and tells him that he has infiltrated the Others and kidnapped Ben. He asks Sawyer to come with him in order to kill Ben. Sawyer agrees to follow him but has no intention of killing anyone – although Locke reminds him that he’s killed a man before. When they reach the Black Rock, Locke barricades Sawyer in the brig with his prisoner – who isn’t Ben, but rather the con man Locke knew as Anthony Cooper. Cooper believes himself to be dead, killed in a traffic accident, and now reunited with his dead son. As he talks to Sawyer about his exploits, Sawyer begins to suspect why Locke brought him here, and asks Cooper what names he’s used in the past. When the con man mentions Tom Sawyer, James Ford knows the moment he’s been waiting for has arrived – he’s face to face with the man he holds responsible for his parents’ death.

Season 10 SG-1 Stargate

The Shroud

SG-1 arrives on a planet that has been approached by a Prior – but one who has not made any threats against the villagers. When the Prior returns, SG-1 hides – but is shocked to find that the prior is Daniel Jackson. Landry orders Daniel brought to Odyssey, at which point Daniel asks the team what took them so long. His conversion is all part of a plan, he claims. Merlin’s memories and personality, still trapped in Daniel’s brain, allowed Daniel to convince Adria that he had been converted to Origin. Adria made him a Prior in hopes of converting both Earth and Vala. But Daniel claims that he is still Daniel – that his conversion was simply a ruse to allow him to finish Merlin’s device and then steal an Ori vessel and deliver the weapon into the Ori galaxy. The only hitch in the plan is that Stargate Command will have to deactivate the wormhole that keeps the Ori supergate occupied. That is, it is the only hitch in the plan if Daniel is telling the truth, and even Jack O’Neill can’t be sure about that. To hedge their bets, O’Neill asks Daniel to give him the intel that SG-1 would need to complete the mission on his behalf. Daniel agrees, but the IOA is not so willing to place faith in a Prior. Woolsey orders Daniel to be placed in stasis until SG-1 can verify his intel . . . but that is not part of Daniel’s plan.

The Man Behind the Curtain

Flashback: A woman gives birth in the woods as her partner looks on. When the baby is finally born, the mother continues to bleed. Her partner, Roger, carries her and the baby to the highway and flags down a car for help, but before they can do anything she dies. Her last request is that Roger name the boy Benjamin.

Years later, Roger and Benjamin travel to the island to join the Dharma Initiative. Roger gets a job as a work man, but he is not happy about his work or the hazardous conditions that accompany Dharma’s conflict with the Hostiles. At some level, he also blames Ben for his partner’s death. Ben, meanwhile, has befriended a girl his own age named Annie – and he sees visions of his mother, telling him the time is not right for him to leave yet. When he can take it no longer, he sneaks out of his camp and beyond the sonic security fence – where he meets Richard Alpert, one of the Hostiles. Ben tells Richard his story, and Richard seems to believe it. So Ben says he wants to join Richard’s group – and Richard says that one day, he will have the opportunity. And when that day comes, Ben settles the conflict between Dharma and the Hostiles once and for all.

The Island: Sawyer brings the tape that Locke gave him back to Sayid, who quickly organizes the rest of the camp – except for Jack and Juliet – into a council. They are stunned to learn about Naomi and the news about Flight 815, and concerned about Juliet’s intentions. When Jack and Juliet return, Juliet tells Sawyer to play the other side of the tape – the ones with Ben’s instructions to wait for a raid on the camp. She has already told Jack about it, and Jack has a plan.

Locke arrives at the Others’ camp and demands answers. When Ben tells him about Jacob, Locke thinks he’s lying. He demands that Ben take him to Jacob, a demand he backs up by beating a returning Mikhail unconscious. Ben agrees; before they leave, Alex gives Locke a gun. They ultimately arrive at an old cottage, but when Ben brings Locke inside, all Locke sees is Ben talking to an empty chair. Locke considers this a sign of Ben’s insanity or dishonesty, but as he turns to go he hears a voice saying “Help me.” When Locke shines a flashlight in response, things start to fly across the room, but Locke still thinks it’s one of Ben’s tricks. On the way back to camp, Ben shows Locke the ditch where the members of the Dharma Initiative are laid to rest – and then shows Locke how seriously he takes both Jacob’s existence and Ben’s special relationship with him.

Bounty

Netal places a bounty on SG-1, and thanks to energy-emitting tags that the Lucian Alliance placed on them during a recent mission, the bounty hunters know exactly where to look. Teal’c is meeting with the Jaffa. Carter and Dr. Lee are at a conference presenting scaled back versions of their technology. Daniel is on a research trip. And Vala has persuaded Mitchell to bring her home to Kansas for his high school reunion. As Vala entertains herself while perplexing many of Mitchell’s family and former classmates, Mitchell tries to kindle a relationship with an old never-quite-flame. But when one bounty hunter decides to use the reunion as a gathering ground for hostages, and no ships with beaming technology are available, SG-1 must extract everyone from harm’s way.

Greatest Hits

Flashback: Charlie reflects on his favorite memories: the first time he heard Driveshaft’s song on the radio; his father teaching him to swim; his brother giving him a family heirloom ring; saving a woman from a mugger; and meeting Claire.

The Island: Jack reveals his plan to the rest of the castaways – with Rousseau’s help, he has been gathering dynamite from the Black Rock. When the Others come to take the pregnant women, Jack intends to blow them up. Juliet tells Sayid that another Dharma station, the Looking Glass, is blocking the signal of Naomi’s satellite phone – but the station is supposedly flooded. Sayid figures that the Looking Glass is connected to the island via the cable on the beach and wants to swim down to shut off the signal, but Jack overrules him in order to focus on the dynamite plan. But when Karl arrives on the beach and tells them that an agitated Ben has moved up the timetable, plans change. Sayid and Bernard will stay behind and shoot at the dynamite to detonate it when the time comes, while Jack leads everyone else to the radio tower. Charlie volunteers to go swim to the Looking Glass, because Desmond has had a flash that Claire and Aaron get rescued after he does so – and after Charlie drowns.

Bad Guys

SG-1 travels without Carter to a world that Daniel hopes contains a repository of Ancient technology. Instead, they wind up on a world much like 20th century Earth that has not yet made contact with other worlds. Their stargate is in a museum, but they do not have a functioning dialing device. The team plans to wait until SGC makes contact and then request a generator to power the gate and dial home manually. But before that happens, some museumgoers find them; the museum’s security guards assume that SG-1 are political rebels and begin shooting. The museum goes into lockdown, trapping some of the patrons inside Concerned that the authorities will simply kill them if they let everyone go, SG-1 decides to pose as rebels and stall for time. With the assistance of a researcher who has long believed the stargate can connect with other worlds, the team tries to find any relics that might let them power the gate themselves. Unfortunately, once they do, they only manage to make it even more urgent that they power up the gate – because otherwise a naquadah bomb will blow them all sky high.

Lost Season 3

Through the Looking Glass

The Island: Jack and the rest of the castaways begin their trek to the radio tower. On the Looking Glass station, two Others capture Charlie and radio Ben for instructions; Ben sends Mikhail to the station to evaluate the situation. When the raiding party arrives at the beach, Sayid and Bernard hit their targets and kill seven of the Others, but Jin misses with his handgun and the surviving three capture them. Bernard explains the plan in order to save Jin’s life, and Ben sets out to intercept Jack before he reaches the tower. He brings Alex with him after he learns of Karl’s involvement in the castaways’ escape.

At the beach, Desmond wakes up just as Mikhail starts shooting at him. Desmond dives into the ocean and finds himself in the Looking Glass, where Charlie is able to signal him to hide. When Mikhail reaches the station, he contacts Ben. Ben tells him to kill Charlie and the two women at the station. Mikhail agrees, despite his irritation at having been lied to by Ben. After he shoots the women, Desmond shoots him with a harpoon, and one of the women gives Charlie the code to shut off the jammer.

When the castaways see only two explosions, they surmise something has gone wrong. Jack pushes on, as Sayid requested. But after Kate says she wants to go back, Sawyer says he will go alone. Juliet claims that she can take Sawyer to a hidden gun cache, but that’s only a lie to get Jack to let them go. Hurley wants to come along, but Sawyer won’t allow it. When the rest of the group meets Ben, he takes Jack aside for a private conversation, and tells him that if he does not bring back Naomi’s phone, Ben will have Sayid, Bernard, and Jin killed. Jack refuses, and when he hears three gunshots over the walkie talkie he beats Ben savagely. When Jack drags him back to the group, Ben introduces Alex to her mother, Rousseau.

On the beach, Sawyer and Juliet observe the situation. Their planning is interrupted by Hurley crashing onto the beach in the Dharma bus. The surprise enables Sayid and the rest to turn the tables, kill two of their captors and capture Tom – at which point Sawyer shoots him. On the Looking Glass, Charlie turns off the jamming and gets a signal – there’s an incoming transmission from Penny. She tells Charlie that she does not have a boat near the island, but before Charlie can get Desmond, Mikhail knocks at the window. He’s outside the station, holding a grenade. Destiny is coming due.

At the radio tower, Jack gets word from Hurley that everyone is OK. Rousseau turns off her distress signal, and Naomi finds a channel. Before she can complete the call, she gets a knife in the back – from Locke. A vision of Walt told him that he has work to do, and he begs Jack not to call for help. But Jack is through with Locke, through with Ben . . . and after a moment, he’s in touch with the outside world.

Flash-forward: Nearing the end of a flight to Los Angeles, Jack sees a newspaper item that shakes him up considerably. He drives to a bridge, calls someone to leave a stumbling message, and then steps out onto the bridge, ready to kill himself. Before he can, he hears the sound of a car crash and turns around to rescue the occupants. But even though he’s being hailed as a hero, Jack can’t pull himself together. He’s drinking heavily and taking oxycodone, stumbling through his days. He goes to a funeral home – the newspaper item was a death notice, but no one has attended the service for whomever has passed away. As he sits drinking in a room with books and maps strewn across the floor, he makes another phone call and asks someone to meet him near the airport. It’s Kate. They’re home. But Jack is convinced that this is a mistake – he wants to go back to the island. As Kate drives away, saying that someone is expecting her, Jack screams after her that they need to go back.

A summit to attempt to reorganize the Free Jaffa Nation is sabotaged by a series of explosions. Many are killed, and Teal’c and Bra’tac are seriously injured. When Teal’c recovers, he learns that a Jaffa named Arkad is suspected of being behind the bombings. Arkad wants the Jaffa to follow Origin, and he has been building a base of support. Teal’c and Bra’tac have history with Arkad – they fought several battles against him when they served Apophis. So Teal’c has no patience when Gen. Landry says he wants to wait for confirmation before pursuing Arkad. He leaves the SGC and begins to pursue Arkad on his own. To complicate matters further, SGC intelligence indicates that many Ori-following Jaffa are planning an attack against Earth, and that Arkad is behind the plot. But the Jaffa says that while the former is true, the latter is not, and he offers his help to stop the plot. The IOA wants to learn more, so they agree that no action should be taken against Arkad – and SG-1 must prevent Teal’c from taking actions that will be attributed to Earth.

Family Ties

Vala’s father asks for sanctuary in exchange for information about Arkad’s plan to attack Earth. While Vala does not trust him, he claims he is trying to change, and his intelligence seems legitimate. Once on Earth, however, Jacek continues to run minor schemes, even while Vala debates whether to attempt to repair their relationship. Others at Stargate Command recommend that she does, including Gen. Landry, who himself is in the process of trying to reconnect with his ex-wife. But when it turns out that Jacek has not been entirely forthcoming about the remnants of Arkad’s plans, SG-1 must recover a cargo ship that’s hidden near the Cheyenne Mountain base – and is rigged to explode.

Dominion

Adria finds Vala in a bar somewhere in the galaxy, trying to cheat her way to a cargo ship. Vala tells her that after information she provided about the possible location of the Ancient repository led SG-3 into a trap, the IOA decided she had been compromised. They planned to remove her from the team and imprison her to prevent her from divulging information about Earth’s defenses, but instead Vala stole a personal cloaking device and escape the SGC. Adria wants to follow the lead Vala has uncovered – but when they arrive on the world in question they find SG-1 waiting with the anti-Prior device. The tables are turned yet again when Ba’al’s Jaffa beam down to the site and take Adria for themselves.

Back at Stargate Command, Vala learns that her memories of her dismissal from the team were a fake. When the team learned that Adria had returned to the Milky Way, Vala volunteered to have false memories implanted with the Galatan device in order to lure Adria into a trap. SGC’s plan was to try to convince her to order to Ori army home, but that quickly takes a back seat to retrieving her from Ba’al. SG-1 learns that the Ba’al clones are gathering for a summit – but when they arrive they find the clones and many Jaffa dead from symbiote poison. Ba’al has apparently decided to eliminate the competition, but one Jaffa who lacked a symbiote is able to give SG-1 Ba’al’s location.

The team is able to retrieve Adria – but not before Ba’al takes her as a host. SG-1 considers its options. One is to simply kill both adversaries on the spot. But the team decides to adopt a more ambitious plan: they enlist the Tok’ra to remove Ba’al and implant a Tok’ra into Adria, who will order the Ori army to leave the galaxy. But Ba’al is not interested in giving up his prize, and injects Adria with poison. The Tok’ra surgeon says that Adria is dying, but she has enough strength left to pursue a fallback option – one that could leave her even more powerful than before.

Season 10 SG-1 Stargate

Unending

Gen. Landry and SG-1 travel on the Odyssey to the new Asgard homeworld, where Thor makes an announcement. The Asgard have been unable to reverse their physical deterioration, and they will all soon die. They have chosen to end their civilization in one stroke, but before they do, they want to pass their entire knowledge base and technology along to Earth, as a way of preserving their legacy. Earth is ready to take its role as the fifth race.

Before the proceedings can finish, Ori warships attack. The Odyssey‘s new weapons are able to destroy one ship as the Asgard homeworld explodes. But every time the ship leaves hyperspace, the Ori are waiting for them. Landry and SG-1 decide to make a final stand and beam the crew to a nearby planet in order to take the stargate home. Before the final shot can destroy the ship, Carter activates a time dilation field that, from their perspective, brings events outside the ship to almost a standstill. She figures that this will buy her time to find a way to save the Odyssey and the Asgard technology, or at least their lives.

The task proves more complicated than expected. Even though she develops a matter converter that keeps them all fed and supplied with oxygen, she can not find a way to ensure their survival. Decades pass. Mitchell begins at impatience and makes his way to stir-crazy. Daniel and Vala begin a relationship after a heated argument breaks down Landry passes away. Finally Carter reveals that she has figured out how to reverse the time field and disengage the Asgard technology that is broadcasting their position to the Ori – but they lack the power to implement it. Mitchell suggests that they harness the power of the Ori blast that has been moving slowly toward them for fifty years, and Carter believes it may work. But one member of SG-1 will have to remain old in order to tell the team what to do, or they will simply repeat their experience over and over again.

Eureka Season 2

Phoenix Rising

A month after the accident that killed Kim, Henry is still reliving it in holographic form. Carter reaches out, suggesting that the two of them help each other deal with their situation. But Henry keeps insisting that events will keep diverging further and further from the timelines they remember. Case in point: at a festival celebrating a solar eclipse, Kevin’s occupational therapist bursts into flames. Two Global Dynamics researchers suffer the same fate, and Carter tries to piece together the link between them while also dealing with the conflict between his memories and this new timeline. Another major shift occurs when Allison – not Henry – is placed in charge of Global Dynamics after Stark is removed. Carter realizes that all three victims were near the lab with the artifact when Kim died, which makes him wonder if Henry is responsible – and if Stark is next.

Try, Try Again

The Pentagon decides to coordinate a regularly scheduled shutdown and reboot of Global Dynamics’ computer system with the official handoff of control from Stark to Allison. A GD employee hopes to use the opportunity to move up the corporate ladder by pushing Fargo off, and plants a small device stolen from the storage room in Fargo’s jacket. Unfortunately, a curious Fargo activates the device . . . and extremely unfortunately, it’s an extremely dangerous personal forcefield device. The device can not be deactivated and the field continuously expands. When it was first tried four years ago, the only way to stop it was to place the wearer at the bottom of a very deep bunker – and detonate a nuclear bomb with him. That sent the device’s creator into self-imposed exile in a cabin outside of town. The Pentagon wants to repeat the previous solution before matters get out of hand, but Allison allows Carter to look for an alternate way out. Carter and Jo track down the thieves, but Stark and Henry can’t find a way to shut down the device. In the end, it becomes clear that the only way to stop the device is to kill Fargo. The only question is, how permanently?

Carter is feeling pretty good about life, planning a surprise sixteenth birthday party for Zoe and managing to get a raincheck on a coffee date with Allison. But rainclouds quickly roll in, both metaphorically and meteorologically. Strange weather events start occurring all over Eureka, including a sudden temperature plunge at Global Dynamics’ spa that freezes an employee to death. And Carter’s ex-wife Abby comes to Eureka for a surprise visit – and plans to take Zoe back to Los Angeles with her. Carter and Abby had agreed that Zoe would only stay in Eureka for a year . . . but Carter never told Zoe, hoping he could work out a different arrangement before the deadline. When Zoe finds out, she is considerably less than thrilled.

Allison receives an anonymous e-mail with details about Global Dynamics’ research on Kevin – Stark brought him to Eureka in part because he appeared to be somehow linked to the artifact. Her frustration with Stark ebbs after Stark explains himself – and after she traces the e-mail to discover that Stark sent it in the first place. Allison also overrules Beverley and has Henry cleared to work at Global Dynamics. Her efforts to delay Henry thwarted, Beverley hurriedly leaves Eureka in order to make contact with her associates in the Consortium.

As the weather gets worse, the town meteorologist predicts a catastrophic hurricane coming soon. But even in Eureka, an accurate weather forecaster is a phenomenon that raises Carter’s suspicions.

The Lost Tales: Voices in the Dark

Over Here: Col. Lochley asks a Catholic priest to come to Babylon 5 a few days before President Sheridan is to arrive for the Interstellar Alliance’s tenth anniversary celebration. A crew member who recently returned from a vacation on Earth had been complaining of hearing voices before finally barricading himself in a section of the station. The crewman, Burke, is now restrained within a security cell and claiming to be possessed by a demonic spirit. The priest is skeptical at first, suspecting mental illness or some kind of hoax. But after a demonstration of the being’s power, he is convinced. He is unsure whether or not to try to perform an exorcism immediately, or summon additional help from Earth. If he calls for help, the word of the reason will spread. And while this may cause some panic, it would also lead to a renewed purpose for a Church that has been declining toward irrelevance. The demonic being claims this is, in fact, its purpose – that it was trapped in space by God so that starfaring humans would find reason to believe. The being’s apparent eagerness to be exorcised gives Lochley and the priest pause: there is another agenda here. But denying the demon’s wish would seem to condemn Burke to suffer, and that responsibility may be too much to bear.

Over There: En route to Babylon 5 for the anniversary celebration, Sheridan begrudgingly gives an interview to ISN. He mentions his regret that Londo will not be at the celebration to represent the Centauri, but that his ship will be picking up Prince Regent Vintari, third in line to the throne. The night before the rendezvous, Galen appears to Sheridan in a dream, and shows him a vision of the destruction of New York City. In 30 years, he says, Emperor Vintari will attempt to restore the Republic’s former glory by destroying an old adversary: Earth. This can all be prevented if Sheridan will simply kill Vintari now. But when Sheridan meets the young man, who already feels trapped by the political intrigues of the Republic, he begins to doubt that he can kill a man for actions he has not yet committed.
