Murder on the Rising Star

Battlestar Galactica (original)Starbuck is accused of murdering an old rival after the two get into a fight over a card game. The warrior insists he had nothing to do with the death, but tests reveal that his laser was the murder weapon. Apollo and Boomer try to clear Starbuck’s name, and unveil a web of deceit that Starbuck’s supposed victim wove to ease his own conscience. The deceased was far from innocent, but the new evidence may not be enough to save Starbuck.

Greetings From Earth

Battlestar Galactica (original)A sleeper ship is recovered in deep space, containing six frozen human beings. Given their ship’s primitive technology and unknown origins, it becomes widely speculated that the six humans are from Earth itself, which may be closer than anyone realized. This theory, however, begins to crumble when the humans are revived – and instantly find the atmosphere aboard Galactica poisonous. Worse yet, the rumors of living Earth people are dividing the loyalties of the Colonial fleet, and Adama fears for their safety. Apollo, Cassiopea and Starbuck quietly escort the humans away from the fleet, and ferry them to the planet Paradeen, which was to have been their destination. But their arrival comes too late – all human life on Paradeen has been exterminated, courtesy of a neutron bomb launched by the Eastern Alliance from the humans’ home planet of Terra. When Eastern Alliance soldiers arrive on Paradeen to hunt down the final remaining humans, the Galactica officers get involved in the Terrans’ war – a decision which will shortly prove to be messier than they could ever imagine.

Baltar’s Escape

Battlestar Galactica (original)The Council of Twelve is infuriated with Adama’s command decisions involving the six Terrans, and he is reined in, relieved of all but military command – and even military orders must be filtered through an appointee of the Council. The Council then votes to open a dialogue with the Eastern Alliance hunters who have just been captured by Adama’s crew. But the Alliance prisoners have no intention of staying put – and they enlist the help of Baltar, who has a personal score to settle with the Colonials. The Council, without Adama’s advice, is taken hostage, and Baltar stands ready to deliver the fleet into the waiting hands of the Cylons.

Experiment In Terra

Battlestar Galactica (original)Apollo and Starbuck are sent on an urgent mission to recapture the Eastern Alliance escapees freed by Baltar, but before they can reach Terra, they are swept into yet another mission of mercy by the Seraphs – and this one is more potentially hazardous than the last, for the entire population of Terra could be wiped out. A peace accord between the Eastern Alliance and the Nationalists provides a perfect opportunity for both sides to lower their defenses – at which point the Alliance will strike. Adama is now faced with a difficult decision…should he allow events on Terra to unfold, or enforce peace by destroying the weapons poised in orbit of the planet, possibly leaving Terra defenseless as a consequence?

Take The Celestra!

Battlestar Galactica (original)Starbuck and Apollo visit the Colonial ship Celestra, where Starbuck hopes to mend fences with an old girlfriend. But the two warriors are caught off guard when Starbuck’s old flame is accused of treason – and all three are embroiled in a mutiny in progress. Aurora has, in fact, been working against Commander Kronos, whose dictatorial command has made life aboard the Celestra intolerable for its shipboard population. By the time the power struggle aboard the Celestra becomes apparent to Adama or anyone else outside the ship, Apollo and Starbuck may be declared traitors to the Colonial fleet as well.

Battlestar Galactica (original)A momentous opportunity arises for Galactica to slip through the perimeters of the Cylons’ defenses undetected, and Adama decides to risk it all to destroy the single Base Ship that stands in the way. Apollo and Starbuck board the Cylon vessel, using Baltar’s captured fighter, and sabotage the Cylons. But during their escape, Apollo and Starbuck lose a device which transmits the proper recognition signals from their Cylon ship. In the desperate firefight which follows, Adama’s forces gain the upper hand – but will anyone remember which captured Cylon fighter is being flown by Apollo and Starbuck?

Galactica Discovers Earth

Battlestar Galactica (original)The beleaguered Battlestar arrives at Earth, a full generation after having received the planet’s location. But there are two problems: the Cylons are still in pursuit of Galactica, and somewhat to the crew’s surprise, Earth (in the year 1980 A.D., by its time scale) isn’t even remotely capable of withstanding a Cylon attack. Adama’s grandson Troy (who spent his childhood with the nickname “Boxey”) and Lt. Dillon remain on Earth as their ship departs Earth once more in an attempt to divert the Cylons from the defenseless human race. A plan emerges to give the human race a higher order of technology to defend Earth from the Cylon onslaught, but there is disagreement over how much technology should be given to a race which is just as likely to destroy itself. And one member of the Council of Twelve decides to take matters into his own hands, traveling back in time to arm the people of Earth with advanced weaponry…but he may be handing dangerously sophisticated technology to precisely the wrong players in Earth’s history.

The Super Scouts – Part 1

Battlestar Galactica (original)Adama’s plan to use the Colonial fleet to decoy the Cylons away from Earth appears to be working – all too well, in fact, when the Cylons viciously attack the fleet, causing critical damage. Though the farmer agrees to help Troy and Dillon, they may have to interfere with the land struggle in order to save the rest of the fleet.

The Return of Starbuck

Battlestar Galactica (original)Dr. Zee goes to Commander Adama with a far-fetched claim – he has had a dream about a man he has never met, a man named Starbuck. While Zee has never met him, Adama fondly recalls the ace pilot – and remembers the last time any of Galactica’s crew saw him. Isolated from the rest of the fleet during a Cylon raid and left behind, Starbuck crash-landed his Viper on a distant world, unable to repair the ship or contact his crewmates. Worse yet, the only company Starbuck found immediately on this planet was an equally stranded Cylon pilot. Buried in the desolate tale of Starbuck’s ultimate fate, Adama reveals, are Zee’s true origins as well.
