Season 1 Sliders

Summer Of Love

SlidersThe authorities investigate the Sliders’ disappearance in their native universe, questioning Quinn’s classmate Conrad Benish, just as Quinn and his friends arrive in another universe. To Quinn’s horror, the timer has suffered some damage, but when a public PA system warns of the coming of a swarm of mutant spider-wasps, he and his friends worry that they may suffer even worse damage. The timer is barely able to generate another vortex in time to escape, and the gateway closes for a moment after Wade and Rembrandt slide. Quinn and Arturo slide to a different location, and find that some of the mutant insects have come with them. Both parties have actually arrived in the same world, with Wade and Rembrandt emerging from their wormhole before the shocked eyes of a hippie commune whose members believe them to be aliens from another world. While searching for Quinn and Arturo, Rembrandt stumbles upon his own funeral – and blows his own cover when the eulogy becomes less than complimentary. It gradually becomes apparent that America is at war in this world, and the counterculture with whom the sliders are identified is considered a very dangerous and subversive group indeed.

Deep Space Nine Season 03 Star Trek

Improbable Cause

Star Trek: Deep Space NineStardate not given: An explosion in Garak’s clothing shop brings the attention of Odo to bear on the usually elusive Cardassian tailor. One lead indicates it could be the work of a Flaxian assassin, but the moment Odo tails the suspect’s spacecraft, it is destroyed by the Romulans who claim he was on their wanted list. Odo takes a solo trip to a rendezvous with a Cardassian who gives him some information – that the attempt on Garak’s life is part of a much larger plot, and that other former members of the Obsidian Order have not survived similar attacks on the same day. Odo and Garak now set out to find ex-Obsidian Order mastermind Enabran Tain on Garak’s hunch that Tain may also be an assassin’s target, but they are intercepted en route by a Romulan ship carrying Tain as a passenger. Tain invites Garak to rejoin him on a joint mission of the Obsidian Order and the Romulan Tal Shiar to attack the Founders of the Dominion on their own turf – and Garak accepts.

Heroes and Demons

Star Trek: VoyagerStardate 48693.2: As Voyager passes near a protostar, Janeway and Torres try to beam some samples of its photonic material aboard. When they try to enlist Harry’s help in studying it, they find that he has disappeared from the ship. Chakotay and Tuvok go to where Harry was last found – the holodeck – and try to learn what happened to their comrade by interacting with Harry’s Beowulf holodeck program. Even Chakotay and Tuvok vanish when Grendel comes to ravage the Hall Heorot. Someone needs to venture into the holodeck to find where the missing crewmen are going, or if they’re still alive. Into Hrothgar’s keep steps a new warrior, the only member of Voyager’s crew immune to the threat of being snatched out of the holodeck. The affair of Grendel was made known to him on his native soil; space travelers said that this hall, best of holo-scenarios, stands empty and useless to all warriors after the evening light becomes hidden beneath the cover of the sky. Therefore his people – or specifically Captain Janeway – advised that he should investigate because they know what his strength can accomplish…but can the holographic doctor grapple with something other than a medical emergency?

Eggheads

SlidersQuinn and the others arrive in a world where intellectuals are revered and even worshipped in the same way as athletes are in the sliders’ native dimension. Quinn and Arturo’s duplicates in this dimension are quite famous – and apparently quite infamous too, since Arturo is served with divorce papers intended for his double from a woman that Arturo once fell in love with and lost, and Quinn is roughed up for his alternate’s enormous gambling debts. The only way Quinn can avoid further harm during his stay is to throw a Mindgame championship, a contest combining physical sports and mental prowess, in MIT’s favor. The results if Quinn doesn’t conspire against his own team could be fatal.

There All The Honor Lies

Babylon 5Sheridan unwittingly walks into a trap set by two Minbari, in which he is forced to kill one of them in self-defense as the other witnesses the event. Immediately, all hell breaks loose when the Minbari government presses charges of murder, threatening to reignite the hostility between the two races. Even worse, Delenn’s insistence that Minbari do not lie further clouds the issue as the surviving witness insists that Sheridan killed his fellow Minbari in cold blood. Earthforce seems eager to stand by and let Sheridan be accused of the killing rather than offering official support. Even Kosh, who is tutoring Sheridan for purposes unknown, offers the captain no more help than another lesson. It falls upon Delenn and Lennier – who is in the difficult position of belonging to the same Minbari clan as the accuser – to find out if Sheridan is being framed.

Captain Sulu / Excelsior Star Trek

Envoy

Star Trek: EnvoyStardate 9029.2: The Excelsior is assigned to visit the warring worlds of Krikiki and Den-Kai to negotiate a peace – and possibly to make overtures that could lead to both civilizations joining the Federation. Captain Sulu’s orders from Starfleet are clear: adhere to both worlds’ customs and protocols, and establish a dialogue. But paradoxically, Sulu is supposed to start this dialogue without being able to directly address anyone he meets at first. The first person he meets turns out to be a walking peace offering – the son of the Krikiki ruler is being sent to the Den-Kai Queen, but only after he has already been tortured, his vocal cords cut and his legs broken. Sulu struggles to maintain his imprtiality in his mission and his silence, and learns from the song of a trio of Krikiki that the young prince is certain to face more of the same treatment when he arrives at the Den-Kai palace. But Sulu doesn’t have to worry about his misgivings over his assignment for long: the Den-Kai send a group of extremists to collect the peace offering, and they attack the Starbase where the handover is to take place. Sulu sees an opportunity to take matters into his own hands, regardless of the Den-Kai’s customs, even though doing so may make the diplomatic situation considerably worse.

At the wormhole, they briefly appear to the crew of DS9 as they decloak; Starfleet orders Sisko to keep the Defiant at the ready in the event of Dominion retaliation against the Alpha Quadrant. Starfleet is also sending more ships to the station as well. Sisko, however, deducing that Odo and Garak are aboard one of the ships, decides to leave DS9 ahead of schedule and retrieve Odo.
