I’m a bigger loser than I thought.

News flash – I fit into my good jeans again. I haven’t really been actively dieting of late, but I have been trying to work on finding alternatives to some of the stuff that I do habitually eat and drink (seen in this previous entry) so that I’m not shoveling gobs of sugar and other crap by the ton. Today, I got a premature wake-up call to report to the farm (still no foals yet, though), which meant wearing the only pair of sweats that wasn’t still sitting, soaking wet, in the washing machine. Which meant I might not have clean clothes in time for work this afternoon if I didn’t get home in time to put the wash in the dryer. Which is exactly what happened. Out of sheer desperation, I tried on my “good pair” of jeans to see if they might fit now, and they did. Bit of a tight fit still, but it’s better than a few weeks ago when I couldn’t zip them up. This is a big deal for me – I’ve been wearing sweats just about all the time for the better part of four months now, because that was what happened to fit. So I’m pleased with this development.
Looks like I’m also be a bigger winner than I thought too – at least two of the station projects that I provided an “editing assist” on at work have won Associated Press awards. As usual, I’m sure my name isn’t on the entry form (one package that I edited from top to tail a couple of years back won first place, and lo and behold, I found that the photog and the reporter were credited with the edit) 🙄 …but it’s still neat to have another couple of AP awards not-quite-to-my-name. I know I had something to do with them. 😆
Here’s a link to some really amazing video (in WMV format) from the surveillance cameras at the new stadium at Bentonville High School; it looks like one of the cameras practically wound up inside the tornado. Round two is just a couple of days away. 😕
Oh, one final South Park note regarding the big send-off episode for Chef: I wondered who in the world did the voice of “Darth Chef” at the end, because it didn’t sound like the usual voice suspects. Sure enough, in the end credits, Peter Serafinowicz is listed as a voice – and that’s somehow appropriate, because Serafinowicz was the voice artist who dubbed all of Darth Maul‘s lines for Ray Park in Star Wars Episode I. Small world, eh?
