Babylon 5 Pre-Launch Presentation

Babylon 5 © Warner Bros.

This is a 1992 sales/electronic press kit presentation sent to syndicated stations to help entice them to join Warner Bros.’ PTEN “mini-network”. The Prime Time Entertainment Network was initially aimed at Fox stations, which at the time were only airing two to three nights of network programming; as Fox’s schedule grew to seven nights a week, PTEN programming generally migrated to UPN and WB affiliates in the early 1990s (two networks that later merged into the CW). This presentation, presented here in a smaller video resolution due to its length, features scenes and elements that were later dropped from the Babylon 5 pilot movie, including an electronic alteration to Delenn’s voice to hint that the character was male (a plot point that was later dropped). This presentation has not been included on any of the Babylon 5 DVD box sets to date.
