Season 07 Star Trek Voyager

The Void

Star Trek: VoyagerStardate 54553.4: Voyager is pulled off-course into an enclosed void littered with the debris of hundreds of dead ships. Once inside, new ships are immediately attacked by other ships, and Voyager quickly becomes the latest target. Though the crew is able to defend the ship, its supply of deuterium is stolen, leaving only very limited warp capability. Other assailants descend upon Voyager like vultures, each one stating that survival in the Void requires nothing more than strength and viciousness. After a one-shot attempt to escape fails, leaving Voyager dead in space and barely able to defend itself, Janeway hatches a plan to establish a new balance of power by forming mutually advantageous alliances with other ships and crews trapped in the Void…but no one seems eager to join Janeway’s Federation-in-miniature.

The Sword Of Orion

Doctor Who: The Sword Of OrionIn the wake of the events surrounding the crash of the R-101, the Doctor and Charley take in a stray time vortex-dwelling creature, which Charley names “Ramsay.” But when Ramsay falls ill, the Doctor steers the TARDIS toward the Garazone system, where he hopes to find a cure. But the Doctor’s stopover at Garazone launches him into an even more perilous adventure. The scrap ship Vanguard is preparing to depart under the command of a mysterious new captain, and the Doctor and Charley are forced to stow away when the TARDIS is mistakenly loaded into the Vanguard’s cargo bay. Matters are made worse when the Vanguard makes a bee-line for a hulking derelict spacecraft. The Doctor and Charley watch helplessly as the crew try to board the enormous ship, and then one by one begin falling victim to that ship’s population of Cybermen, who have received a signal to reactive. Workforce – Part I

Star Trek: VoyagerStardate 54584.3: On the planet Quarra, it’s another typical work day. The members of the labor force arrive at their jobs, perform their tasks, laugh with each other, fall in love, and receive frequent injections from their Quarren “employers,” ostensibly to protect them from radiation. But one employee has troubling flashbacks of being aboard a starship, and he even thinks he recognizes a fellow worker as his Captain in these visions. But that woman – Kathryn Janeway – is settling comfortably into her work schedule, falling in love with another worker, and is blissfully unaware of the fact that she was once the captain of the starship Voyager. In the meantime, four of her colleagues still retain their memories and are working against time and overwhelming Quarren security to recapture their crewmates.

Human Error

Star Trek: VoyagerStardate not given: Seven of Nine begins spending a great deal of time in the holodeck, simulating various social situations. But outside the holodeck, she is still her old self, showing no signs of her recent “practice” and still making every effort to avoid most shipboard social gatherings, including the baby shower for Tom and B’Elanna. But when massive energy discharges begin to explode in Voyager’s path, threatening the ship and its crew, there isn’t time for pleasantries anyway. Despite that, Seven continues spending every free moment on her “research,” even opting to forego regenerating in her Borg alcove in favor of social simulations which are taking on a personal and even romantic dimension (including a simulation of a relationship with Chakotay). But is she ignoring more pressing duties that could help the crew escape its current predicament?

Season of Death

FarscapeScorpius hides on the ice planet, looking to avoid any confrontation until his command carrier can retrieve him and the vital chip he has taken from Crichton’s brain. Jothee and Chiana get closer aboard Moya, while Rygel returns to the planet and discovers Crichton’s plight. Zhaan achieves a telepathic rapport with the still-mute Crichton, who begs her to kill him and free him from the Scorpius clone that still remains implanted in his mind. Instead his friends urge the Diagnosan, recovered from its injuries, to repair Crichton’s brain – a surgery that can only be performed with tissue from the bodies that remain frozen in the donor bank. A despairing Crichton earns a victory when he realizes that without the chip, he can mentally overpower the clone. It may be for naught, however, as a Scarran has arrived, chasing both the Moya crew and Scorpius. Crichton and D’Argo’s only hope may be Zhaan, who risks everything to summon help from beyond.

The Doctor decides to take his companion to the lovely city of Venice…but naturally, overshoots the time frame a little bit and winds up taking her to Venice in the 23rd century, on the day before the fabled city sinks under the water once and for all. But Charley is stunned to see that no evacuation is being carried out – quite the contrary, in fact. Mad Duke Orsino is planning one last revel, and the more inebriated, the better as far as he’s concerned. Other Venetians aren’t taking their last day on Earth quite so calmly. Orsino’s court curator, Churchwell, is all but in a panic about the fate of the Duke’s valuable art collection. Pietro, a member of an amphibious race of gondoliers, has his eye on Charley in hopes of using her in a plot to help his people take over the city. The High Priest of an order that worships the Duke’s late wife means to see an ancient prophecy fulfilled, no matter the cost in human lives. And in his madness, the Duke deputizes someone to the throne, someone who may destroy everyone even before the city crumbles at daybreak. This time, the Doctor and Charley won’t be able to escape by dawn.

The crew discover that there are children trapped in another part of the station; Aeryn and Crichton set off to rescue them while Zhaan tends to the injured barkeeper. Self-Inflicted Wounds Part 1: Could’a, Would’a, Should’a

FarscapeMoya is searching for a planet on which Zhaan can heal when Pilot informs Crichton that they’ve detected a wormhole. While he knows the urgency of Zhaan’s condition, Crichton figures a quick survey of the wormhole to gather data can’t hurt. Unfortunately, that’s when another craft comes spinning out of the wormhole, crashing through and merging with Moya. The fused craft is bouncing through a series of wormholes, and Moya’s systems seem to be shutting down as a result. The crew also begin to see visions of a flying serpent-like creature. The commander of the other ship, Neeyala, reports that the only way to disentangle the ships and escape the wormhole is to have the ships push off against each other, with the result being that one ship will be sucked into the wormhole and destroyed. Moya’s deterioration makes her appear to be the logical candidate, to everyone’s grief, particularly Zhaan. As the crew prepares for the detachment, they accidentally open another of the cryopods – but this time, the occupant survives. As Crichton scans through the data collected from the wormhole loop, he sees a familiar transmission – an old television broadcast. A sign of home.

Self-Inflicted Wounds Part 2: Wait for the Wheel

FarscapeBefore the crew leave Moya for the separation attempt, they discover that their ship’s deterioration is not a natural phenomenon at all – the occupants of the other ship have been using a device to render themselves invisible and sabotaging the Leviathan, in order to ensure the crew’s cooperation in keeping the other ship intact. The crew decides to try and save Moya, but they must act quickly – as they spend more time within the wormhole, the serpent becomes more tangible. The two crews battle each other for the upper hand, and eventually Moya and company prevail. The moment of separation is at hand – but one person must stay behind on the other ship to operate the critical controls. Crichton and Aeryn argue over who will stay behind, until Zhaan steps in and reminds them that she is the logical choice – her life is already near its end. As the rest of the crew watches, Zhaan withdraws the other ship from Moya; as Moya re-enters normal space, Zhaan and her ship are destroyed.

Q brings his son to Voyager in the hopes that the crew can teach the boy the qualities of humanity that Q has learned from Starfleet officers past. Different Destinations

FarscapeThe crew visits a memorial to a moment of history where the Peacekeepers lived up to their names, arranging a truce that spared the lives of a group of nurses inside a besieged monastery. Stark’s powers interact strangely with the memorial, opening a crack in time that pulls the crew back to the siege. Upon their arrival, they learn that reality doesn’t quite match up with the legends Aeryn learned in her training; between that and the distortions they created with their very arrival, history soon experiences substantial revision. As Stark tries to find a way to recreate the tear so they can go home, Crichton keeps looking for ways to repair the damage – but this may be one of those occasions that proves the old saying about good intentions.

Author, Author

Star Trek: VoyagerStardate 54732.3: Thanks to Q’s reward to Janeway for taking care of his son, Voyager is now within shouting distance of home – or, at the very least, close enough to utilize Lt. Barclay’s latest innovation, a subspace signal bounced into the Alpha Quadrant, enabling real-time communications between Voyager and Starfleet. For the first time since Voyager became stranded in the Delta Quadrant, Harry Kim is able to see his parents, B’Elanna Torres sees her father for the first time in over twenty years, and the entire crew gets their first glimpse of Earth via a satellite transmission. And who has the Doctor been talking to? A Bolian publisher of holonovels, who has shown great interest in the hologram’s dramatization of the crew’s struggles over the past seven years. The Doctor’s crewmates learn about the negotiations for his literary work, but when they play the scenario themselves, they’re appalled to see how the Doctor has exaggerated their worst traits (not to mention his own struggle for equal rights as a member of the crew). The crew suggests more realistic revisions, which the Doctor implements without realizing that his unscrupulous publisher has already gone to “press” – with the wildly unflattering first draft. The crew’s families back home, after experiencing the holonovel, start asking questions about what has really happened to their loved ones in the Delta Quadrant. But when the Doctor tries to seek legal recourse for the unauthorized distribution of his work, the publisher falls back on the very point of the Doctor’s drama – holograms have no rights.

Minuet In Hell

Doctor Who: Minuet In HellBrigadier Lethbridge-Stewart (Retired) arrives in the newly-formed American state of Malebolgia, where the locals have requested his advice following his participation in the secession of Scotland from the United Kingdom. But the Brigadier is a little suspicious of events in Malebolgia, and he’s not alone – he has actually been assigned to look into rumors of misuse of a mind scanning/recording/reprogramming device at a local mental hospital. Those rumors turn out to be true when the Brigadier encounters a long-haired man in unusual clothes who claims to have arrived out of nowhere only the night before, and also claims to know the Brigadier. But Lethbridge-Stewart takes the man back to the mental hospital, and doesn’t get to hear the man’s claims that he’s a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey – and another patient at the mental hospital is making precisely the same claims. But whoever the Doctor may be, he’s in no position to stop a confluence of demonic influences from overrunning the 51st state – leaving Lethbridge-Stewart and an equally amnesiac Charley to do battle with darkness by themselves.
