The decision has been made: I want them gone.  Pulled out of the ground.  They&#8217;re an unruly tangled mess and I don&#8217;t even like those kind of bushes anyway.  But first you have to be able to get to them at the ground level, so that was my task today: trimming away as much of the actual greenery as possible so we can get to the trunks and dig &#8217;em up.<\/p>\n<p>Gabby wasn&#8217;t helping me much.  She was doing this instead.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thelogbook.com\/earl\/hizzouse\/q2-11\/gabby9.jpg\" alt=\"Gabby attack!\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I wouldn&#8217;t have thought this would slow me down as much as she did, but she&#8217;s a compact, dense little mutt.  She&#8217;s going to be a big dog someday, and she&#8217;s already heavy, like someone wrapped a cute puppy around a cinder block.  It&#8217;s sort of like advance warning that the big dog she&#8217;s going to become is just compressed in there, waiting to unfold: BIGDOG.ZIP.<\/p>\n<p>I stopped for a moment to look at a storm cloud that went to the north and east of us.  Take a look between the trees on the left and see if you can spot the rainbow.  Little E was all excited about the rainbow.
