Everyone seemed to love it last year, so here we go again:

This year I decided to take the bizarre step of mixing soundtrack and non-soundtrack music together, so get ready for a wild ride. The track list (and links to the relevant CD reviews where applicable) are as follows – but don’t read the list until you’ve listened to the whole track!

Crowded House: “People Are Like Suns” (from Time On Earth)
Tori Amos: “Dark Side Of The Sun” (from American Girl Posse)
Alan Parsons Project: “No Answers Only Questions” (from Vulture Culture remastered edition)
Daniel Gannaway: “Tiny Lights” (from Heading For Country)
Christopher Franke: “G’Kar” (from Babylon 5: The Lost Tales)
John Williams: “Jonathan Begins To Draw / The Landing” (from Amazing Stories Volume 3)
Paul McCartney: “Only Momma Knows” (from Memory Almost Full)
Murray Gold: “Blink” (from Doctor Who Series 3)
Joel Goldsmith: “Very Dark Days” (from Witchblade)
Bear McCreary: “Storming New Caprica” (from Battlestar Galactica Season 3)
Joel Goldsmith: “Brotherly Love” (from Witchblade)
Ror-Shak featuring Julee Cruise: “Fate Or Faith” (from Deep)
Electric Light Orchestra: “Latitude 88 North” (from Out Of The Blue remastered edition)
Jason Falkner: “Hurricane” (from I’m OK You’re OK)
8-Bit Weapon: “Micro Boogie” (from Mean Time)
Crowded House: “People Are Like Suns” (from Time On Earth)

I tried to make this bizarre assemblage of stuff as musically valid as possible – matching up notes/keys so that there’d be something bearing some vague resemblance to an organic flow from one song into another – though there are a couple of transitions in there that I’m kinda “eh” about now. There are a couple of wicked edits in there too, if I do say so myself.

For those who liked the previous mixes, they are once again live:
Best of Soundtracks 2006
Best of Not Soundtracks 2006
Best of Soundtracks 2005

All of these mixes will vanish again in about a week, so stream to your heart’s content while you can.
