Earl’s best of soundtracks 2005

For everyone who liked last week’s soundtrack mix, I went back in time a year and created a 2005 mix. (I’m not really trying to make a career out of this.) See what all you can spot in here…it’s slightly longer than the ’06 mix.)

OK, around the 8 1/2 min. mark, we have The Hitchhiker’s Guide (movie of course) and the bit immediately following the “Journey of the Sorceror” that has become identified w/ the radio and TV versions. I’m not sure about the exact piece of the last, but I’m certain it’s from the _New_ Battlestar Galactica. And I’m going on this from all the episodes I have seen up to this point in time. At least it sounds like it came from one of those episodes…especially towards the end.
BTW (not that anyone cares) , but I took a bad fall and scraped my left knee…so I’ll probably be staying up all night.

Yowch. At least you’ve got music to listen to while you’re nursing that wound. I took a kick in the right kneecap today from a 7-month-old filly, so I can relate – I’m just kinda hobbling around at the moment.
Let me see if I can remember just from listening what all I put in this particular stew, as I didn’t save my .mix file. Here’s a comprehensive list of who can sue me today:
    1. Stargate Atlantis – “Messages” (Joel Goldsmith)
    2. Firefly – “Reavers Chase Serenity” (Greg Edmonson)
    3. War Of The Worlds – “The Attack On The Car” (John Williams)
    4. Star Wars Episode III – “Enter Lord Vader” (John Williams)
    5. Chronicles Of Narnia – “The Blitz, 1940” (Harry Gregson-Williams)
    6. Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy – “The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy” (Joby Talbot)
    7. Serenity – “Funeral / Rebuilding Serenity” (David Newman)
    8. Batman Begins – “Antrozous” (Hans Zimmer / James Newton Howard)
    9. Battlestar Galactica – “Starbuck Takes On All Eight” (Bear McCreary)
On a serious note, don’t just sit around and listen to my hack job mixes all the time – do what I did and go buy the CDs. And if you wanna buy ’em from here, I certainly won’t kick ya in the shins.
