40/29 Tracks The Storm

Added to TV Promos, KHBS / KHOG by Earl Monday February 28, 2000

Tracks The StormThis promoted a special package during one of our newscasts which was essentially a big behind-the-scenes tour of our weather cave (the weather crew is happy to have moved into much more spacious quarters since then) and a tease about an upcoming weather pager service being sponsored by the station. This promo again had a great music bed, and a ton of fast cuts in time to the rhythm (and some excellent footage from the package shot by photog Mike Hall). Each super seen during the promo was accompanied by a 50% ghosted, de-focused, and slowly-expanding-while-fading duplicate of itself, creating a kind of “shockwave” effect.

The Price Of Being An Internet Spy

Added to TV Promos, KHBS / KHOG by Earl Thursday February 10, 2000

Internet SpyThis promo probably isn’t about what you think it’s about. In fact, the package for the story didn’t come together until after the promo was finished and on the air, which meant that news had to follow the promo’s lead. The promo was built entirely from handy ABC promo footage, and leaned heavily on a cool, Matrix-esque music bed and a strange, undulating electronic background (which was actually the Media Composer recording its own feedback).
