This section is an archive of my best work from my days in broadcast TV and radio. I spent a combined total of 17 years in broadcasting, starting from my teenage years. I could probably take up a whole other blog just telling old war stories, but this is where I let my work speak for itself, except for where I step in to give each spot some context and explain how I achieved certain effects. If your computer is equipped with the Flash player - and I'm not sure they even make computers now that aren't - you can even view the spots at a reasonable (but small and space-saving) resolution.
Any music, show footage, logos and other copyrighted intellectual property that appears here is owned by either the stations, networks, music libraries or syndicators; this material only appears here in the context of how I used it in these spots. Unless otherwise noted, all spots actually aired.
Where I am now
I now do freelance video production, concentrating mostly on post though I do occasionally do some shooting, at my home studio. You can learn more about that business at theLogBook.com Media. Since bailing out of broadcast at the end of 2006, I have produced three direct-to-DVD projects with more on the way, done web video conversions and interactive web video pieces for clients, did graphic design and post for a half-hour talk show pilot and continue to work on other projects. I haven't been starving by a long shot. I also now have a son who's racing toward the tender age of two, and I couldn't ask for a better edit suite buddy.
But we still had summer to get through in the meantime. To promote our somewhat temporary lineup of Coach sandwiched between two episodes of The Simpsons every night, I came up with the “Summer Just Got Dumber” campaign, leaning heavily on clips of Homer and Dauber, the two shows’ resident nitwits.
