What’s with this new look?
Put simply, the “new look” of Phosphor Dot Fossils - at least where its main menu is concerned - is the beginning of converting one of the biggest sections of theLogBook.com over to a new, searchable, sortable, database-driven format. Much of the site has already been switched over to this new style (see our music reviews, episode guides, DVD reviews, toy & collectible reviews, etc.) with great success. Phosphor Dot Fossils, however, has some slightly different demands, and so it’s been saved for last - at various points along the way we’ve used the rest of the changeovers for R&D.
The massive library of movies and media files associated with PDF has already been prepared, tucked away neatly in its own database. Very soon, all of the new Phosphor Dot Fossils reviews will appear in this format only, and we’ll devote many an hour to moving the “classic” reviews over as well until it’s all done.
Phosphor Dot Fossils is one of the oldest retrogaming sites on the web - its first iteration, as a museum of “forgotten” Odyssey2 games, premiered around 1995 - and to be completely frank, it’s at the heart of a lot of theLogBook.com’s success. You can rest assured that I’ll be treating this material with kid gloves, because I love it as much as anyone reading this does. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to drop me a line below.
Thanks for your patience during the transition, and mind the sawdust. Hopefully the PDF changeover will be complete during 2008.
