Classic Gaming Expo
2005

The Digital Press and CGE Services booths were active all weekend, offering cool
goods and good deals. Howard Scott Warshaw himself manned the CGE Services
booth, with copies of his outstanding Once Upon Atari documentary DVD for
sale.

Some vendors focused exclusively on one system, from Intellivision Productions
to a still-faithful Commodore users' group.

Pack Rat Video Games offered homebrews for the Atari 2600 and the
Odyssey2, as well as an Odyssey DVD.

We may not all be made of stars, but this mind-boggling life-size Pac-Man
maze was made of Legos at the MobyGames booth. I thought I got a shot of the
equally impressive and accurate Space Invaders Lego display on the
opposite site, but apparently I goofed. I can't even begin the fathom the time
and material put into this project. A+!

I took the opportunity to spread the word about Phosphor Dot Fossils...on the
high score tables of as many arcade games as I could.

You could play the new Odyssey2 homebrew Mr.
Roboto at Pack Rat, or sit back in Digital Press' authentic 80s living room
and play some NES games. Or some Rick Springfield LPs.

PortableSystems.net's hand-crafted portable game machines were awe-inspriring
feats of engineering, with a portable Dreamcast and a portable NES on display,
among others.

4jays.com and B&C ComputerVisions had plenty of classic hardware and
software for sale.

More goodies could be found at the Xgamestation booth, or the Northwest Classic
Gaming Enthusiasts.

Even though I didn't get a picture of them with all their gear, Tony Fox
and Evil Otto of Digital Retro Revolution had their

excellent new CD for sale and put on a live show.

8-Bit Weapon also wowed the crowd (and a film crew) with their Commodore 64 and
Game Boy driven originals.

One last game of Dig Dug for the road.
