In the early days of the Atari 2600, Atari considered also marketing the machine
through its invented rival, Kee Games. This tangerine-and-rainbow-striped
casing is a prototype of what it would have looked like.

Before detachable joysticks, this all-in-one casing was considered for the Atari
2600.

A prototype of Atari's never-released "holoptic" game system, Cosmos. Al
Alcorn's idea for advancing gaming beyond the 2600, Cosmos featured impressive
holographic overlays, but less-than-stunning game play via a series of LED
lights. Atari's new management under Warner Bros. rejected Cosmos (despite
Alcorn showing it off at an early Consumer Electronics Show).
