Jedi Crash

The Clone WarsAnakin and Ahsoka are on a mission to aid Jedi Aayla Secura, who is under heavy attack by Separatist forces.  They board Aayla’s ship and manage to escape before it is destroyed, but Anakin is severely injured in the process.  While making their getaway, the Republic ship bearing the Jedi is accidentally set on a course into the heart of a star.  A desperate gamble leads to a crash landing on the planet Maridun, where the Jedi and their clone troops will have to survive a hostile environment if they can ever hope for aide or rescue.

Notes:This episode begins a two-part adventure on Maridun. It is production number #22.

Jedi Fortune Cookie: “Greed and fear of loss are the roots that lead to the tree of evil.”

This story was inspired by a three-part comic book story that took place during the Rebellion era.  The depiction of Maridun in this episode is greatly at odds with its portrayal in that story, where it is shown to be the home planet of the Amanin race, not the pacifist Lurmen seen here.

Jennifer Hale’s career as a voice actress dates back to “additional voice” work on the 1993 series The Pink Panther.  Other notable voice roles include Iron Man, The Tick, The Powerpuff Girls, Kim Possible and the voice of Cinderella in the two Disney straight-to-video sequels.  She has previous Star Wars experience, having worked on the video games X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Force Commander, both Knights of the Old Republic titles and Star Wars: Jedi Knight – Jedi Academy.

George Coe is a veteran actor with well over a hundred credits to his name. Notable appearances include Kramer vs. Kramer, Max Headroom and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was also an original cast member of Saturday Night Live before the cast was pared down to the core that would carry it through its formative years.

Alec Medlock has appeared on shows such as Cold Case, Malcolm in the Middle and Drake & Josh.  Voice work includes The Land Before Time X: The Great Longneck Migration and Dinotopia: Quest for the Ruby Sunstone.

Katie Lucas is George Lucas’ younger daughter.  She has previously appeared (in different roles) in all three of the Star Wars prequel films. This episode marks her first professional writing gig.
