IT LIVES.

Earl's Avid - up and running
It lives. It breathes (loudly). It works.

Earl's Avid - up and running
Okay, okay, here’s a shot where you can actually see it.

Earl's Avid - up and running
I’m already working on a couple of things already. Would you believe I already had stuff shot so I could edit it later?

Actually, it’s not as if with one bound, Jack was free. The dongle alone still didn’t solve anything; there was a 3.5 flarpy disk marked “Updater” that I had to locate in the box o’ goodies and use, and that did the trick perfectly. (I actually didn’t know that needed to be done, I was just getting desperate at that point.)

There’s not really a good time to be sick as a dog, but this is as close to one as I’ve got. I’ve been running a fever and have been having some hellacious chills for the past 48 hours or so, so I guess I’ll just have to stay home with this puppy. Tough life, eh? Here’s the first video I’ve edited with it.

Thanks to the potent-enough-to-knock-me-on-my-ass cocktail of cold and flu meds I’m on, I had a really bizarro dream last night; it involved me having to mediate a dispute of some sort between the following characters:

  • Saul Tigh
  • House M.D.
  • Harlan Ellison

…a veritable cornucopia of irascible cranky bastards there. Sadly, I can’t remember any of it except for two things: Harlan’s main beef with the other two was that they don’t actually exist, and I didn’t get a word in edgewise until I sincerely and emphatically urged all parties to STFU. Just as well, really - if I had remembered enough to transcribe the whole thing, I’d probably charge you to look at it, because that would be some good stuff.

I’m off to lay back down for a bit, preferably surrounded by kitties.

Looks good! Here’s hoping your new setup will do all sorts of wonderful and amazing things.

Still…I was expecting a bit more from your freshman effort…maybe Iago sprouting wings and flying around the room? :D Of course, I have no idea what an Avid is capable of doing so I might be asking too much. Hmmm…I am a little handy with Flash…maybe I could do it. (Looks or a good pic of Iago…)

Holy crap! If you do a google image search with the words: iago and cat you get lots of pictures of…you guessed it…Iago!!!

OK, I’m sure this was obivous to you but I found it pretty fricking amazing.

You think YOU had strange dreams, I had two that I remember, which in itsfelf is a surprise given I rarely recall any dream I had. In one I’m confronted by one of the agents from The Matrix. Next thing I know Robocop shows up and starts blasting at the agent, and we all know how effective THAT is so I told Robo to try hitting him instead. I woke up after that.

In another dream I’m standing in line in front of a movie theater…in Japan. I knew it was Japan because I noticed the marqees were printed in Japanese. And no,
I’ve never been to Japan. The only reason I had that dream in the first place is probably beacause I own a lot of Japanese animation. Which was what the marqees were mostly compriesd of, incidentally.

Anyway just thought I get that off my chest, and at least I know I’m not the only one who had strange dreams once in a while.

BTW I caught at least a couple eps of House, though not recently since it shares the same timeslot as Eureka, which won’t begin showing new eps till Spring if next year:.(

Iago was a beautiful cat, so yes, I’m dead guilty of taking and posting tons of pictures of him. As for wings - there’s no need! He’s got his own these days. And a halo too.

I may be redoing the Iago video because I’ve found even more footage of him, going back to when he was still only about a year old, plus I have some still photos of the day I brought him and Iago home that I can add to the mix. This was pretty much a “quickie” project just to make sure everything was in working order.

Actually my comment was not so much about how many pictures you took and posted but more on how easy it was to find them. When I normally do a Google Image Search (GIS), I have to sift through a lot of pictures that have nothing to do with what I am looking for. In this case, using only the keywords “Iago” and “cat”, I found mosly pictures of your Iago (at least 36 of the 42 pictures found). I guess the name Iago isn’t normally associated with cats.

A GIS using “Xena” and “dog”, on the other hand, produced a lot more results and I only saw one pic of your Xena (pretty much similar results for”Otheloo” and “cat”).

Um, I mean “Othello” not “Otheloo” (”Otheloo” and “cat” produced 0 results).

Otheeloo is what you get when Othello and Milla Jovovich’s character from The Fifth Element have a horrible transporter accident.
