When Saddith died I didn't get a replacement. I should have because Teresa started becoming less active. I didn't realize that until it was too late and the vet discovered that Teresa's intestines were backed up in a major way (the process of cleaning out her system was too much stress and she died from it). If I got another cat after Saddith died, Teresa might be still alive and would have outlived Saddith by many years instead of only 18 months. So go for it.
