I might as well give this a try.

I was completely unaware when this year’s festival took place. I’ve ended up missing out on it for years, I always find out about it too late to ask for that day off. Either that or I pick up a flyer and find out it was the previous weekend.

I missed the one in 2019 because I had just moved to the area, but subscribed to the Facebook page anyways. I’ve become such an advance planner.

Just got a e-mail…. Sylvester McCoy will be a guest in attendance.

The Logbook Guy isn’t going to be happy.

    And, thanks to Covid-19…. I can’t go.

Thanks to COVID-19, no one can go. [LINK]

Our hearts are broken to have to announce the 2020 Texas Pinball Festival scheduled for March 27-29 is cancelled. This decision was not an easy one to make, and we know many of you are as disappointed as we are.

The World Health Organization has declared the COVID-19 virus a global pandemic and the safety and security of our guests is our top priority. What affects us even more directly is that President Trump has suspended travel from most of Europe and many of our vendors and special guests have contacted us in the last 24 hours to notify us they would not be coming to TPF due to concern for the COVID-19 threat. In addition, Exhibitors have begun cancelling. We’ve said it many times… Without the Exhibitors, there is no show.

We cannot express how devastating this is to TPF and to us personally.

We are asking everyone to give us a few weeks to develop a plan, as we work with the venue and our merchants. We hope you can weather this storm with us and be patient. We promise to do everything we can to save the Texas Pinball Festival.

Initially, tournament entries will be refunded and purchased merchandise marked “pick up at the show” will be mailed. We expect to be able to transfer general admission to TPF2021.

Thank you for the heads up. This has been an interesting week where, in 24 hours, we had NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, and the college tournaments all either cancel or postpone their events.

SEC baseball is a no-show for this year, along with the College World Series. I was kind of hoping to root for the Razorbacks this year, as baseball is one of the few sports where you can cheer Arkansas on and actually have a reasonable expectation of seeing a win out of the deal.

    Just got this email…

TPF2020 Weekend Passes will automatically transfer to TPF2021. You don’t need to do anything.

…which is what I wanted anyways.

It’s happening all over: Just got news that Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee has cancelled. This is entirely due to Milwaukee prohibiting all gatherings of 50 or more people.

QuakeCon announced this morning that the August 6th-9th event has been cancelled because “with all of the logistical challenges and uncertainties we currently face due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s QuakeCon.”

This was supposed to be the 25th Quakecon too. I did suggest that they call it next year “Quakecon 25+1”.
